Nohyung Supermarket Jeju Review 2026: Media Art Guide
Escape the Jeju heat or rain at Nohyung Supermarket! This incredible indoor media art exhibition near the airport is a must-visit for stunning photos.

If you've been bouncing between outdoor attractions in Jeju and suddenly find yourself dealing with unexpected rain or an intense summer heatwave, you might be scrambling for a backup plan.
If you need a fantastic indoor spot near the airport,
Jeju's Nohyung Supermarket is exactly what you're looking for!
The moment you step inside, your jaw will drop. It's so completely filled with light and color that you'll be wondering, "How is something this cool hiding in Jeju?" 😮
It's a brilliant spot for a unique date, capturing Instagram-worthy photos with friends,
and it's incredibly fun for families with kids, too 😄

With a name like "Nohyung Supermarket," you might think it's an actual grocery store 😂
In reality, it's a massive media art theme park built inside a remodeled, old circus arena on Nohyeong-ro in Jeju City.
While most people flock here on rainy days looking for indoor activities,
I highly recommend it for those brutally hot summer days!
When the sun is beating down between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM, making outdoor hikes unbearable,
escaping into this air-conditioned wonderland is the ultimate move 👍

You can buy Nohyung Supermarket tickets either on-site or online,
but booking online is much cheaper, so it's a no-brainer!
Adult Ticket: ~$12 → ~$10

My Nohyung Supermarket Experience
📍 Nohyung Supermarket
89 Nohyeong-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju-do

Nohyung Supermarket is incredibly convenient, located just a
15-minute drive (about 4 miles) from Jeju International Airport.
The short drive makes it an easy addition to your itinerary.
Booking online not only saved me money,
but it also let me skip the ticket counter line, which was a huge plus! :)
** Quick Tip: There are no restrooms inside the exhibition area,
so make sure to use the 1st-floor restroom before you enter!

Right past the entrance, you're greeted by a
nostalgic 1980s-style black-and-white supermarket.
Everything on the shelves—from instant ramen to daily necessities—is completely gray. It feels exactly like stepping into an old black-and-white TV set!
I couldn't stop snapping photos right from the start 👀

Once you pass through this monochromatic space and open the next door,
a vibrant explosion of color suddenly takes over 🎇
This stark contrast beautifully sets the stage
for the entire Nohyung Supermarket universe.

When you finally step into the main hall,
your eyes are immediately drawn to the ceiling,
and it is absolutely breathtaking 😮
A massive screen reaching about 82 feet (25m) high
wraps seamlessly around the walls, floor, and ceiling!
There are almost no visible breaks in the projection, making it feel incredibly immersive.

During the ocean scenes, the digital waves wash right over the floor,
making you feel like you're literally floating underwater.
And when the floral scenes burst like confetti,
it's like standing right in the middle of a grand fireworks display...!

The scenes change rapidly and dynamically,
making it a phenomenal place to bring kids!
Because the colors are so intense and the environment shifts constantly,
the little ones stay completely mesmerized 👀
You definitely won't hear anyone complaining about being bored 😂

It's also a fantastic spot for a unique date.
Instead of the usual cafe or beach walk,
stepping into a space like this completely elevates the mood!
It creates this effortlessly romantic, cinematic vibe ~.~ 😏

It had been a while since I last visited a media art exhibit,
but just sitting there and taking it all in,
an entire cycle of the show flew by in what felt like seconds 😂
I initially squeezed this into my itinerary just because it was raining,
but it ended up being one of the most memorable parts of the trip!

Because it's located so close to Jeju Airport,
it's the perfect light activity for your arrival day
or right before you fly out :)
You can enjoy it comfortably regardless of the weather,
and it's arguably the best way to escape Jeju's mid-summer heat 👍
If you're planning to go, do yourself a favor: book online in advance,
skip the lines, and save some cash! 😎
