☕️ The Agjak Latte at Namdaemun Market is perfect for:
✔︎ Travelers seeking the hottest spots in Namdaemun Market.
✔︎ Those curious to try a unique, crunchy latte that's also budget-friendly.
✔︎ Coffee lovers who appreciate a good brew and don't mind a little wait for quality.

When you visit Namdaemun Market (남대문시장), everyone tells you to try the savory vegetable hotteok, right? So, there I was, patiently waiting in line for a hotteok, when I noticed almost everyone around me was holding the same distinctive coffee cup. It instantly reminded me of a friend's glowing recommendation for Concord Coffee (콩코드커피) in Namdaemun Market. Seizing the moment, I decided a coffee was in order. I hustled over, bracing myself for a long queue, but to my surprise, the line was shorter than the hotteok one – definitely manageable!
However, I quickly realized the line I was in was for ordering coffee, not picking it up! 🤣 Well, I was already committed, so I stayed in line. 🤣
Concord Coffee Menu

Since it's a takeout-only spot, the coffee menu isn't super extensive, but they cover all the basics: Americano, Latte, Vanilla Latte, and Hazelnut Latte.
For me, there was no hesitation. I walked straight up and ordered the Agjak Latte (아그작라떼)!
Let's be honest, most people are lining up for this specific latte, right? For those curious, the Agjak Latte is a rich, sweet latte featuring unrefined sugar that provides that delightful "agjak agjak" crunch!

The Agjak Latte was priced at ₩3,800 (~$3), and ordering was conveniently done via a tablet. As I mentioned earlier, they don't hand over your coffee immediately. Instead, you'll receive a KakaoTalk message (similar to a text message) when your drink is ready, as shown on the right screen.

While it took about 30 minutes to place my order and another 30 minutes for the coffee to be prepared, the wait was absolutely worth it. The price was fantastic, and the latte itself was incredibly rich and perfectly sweet!
Honestly, even with the wait, you can easily spend that time exploring the vibrant Namdaemun Market (남대문시장), and before you know it, your coffee will be ready. I'd definitely make a point to queue for this latte again if I'm ever back in the area!

✔︎ My Review of Concord Coffee's Agjak Latte in Namdaemun Market
This rich and sweet latte is truly delicious. If you've tried The Ventii's (더벤티) Agjak Latte before and were underwhelmed, I wholeheartedly recommend giving Concord Coffee's version a try! There's simply no comparison. The Ventii's version felt like chewing on pebbles, and its richness was overwhelming, creating an imbalance. But at Concord Coffee, the "agjak" texture is like crushing delicate snowflakes – it's just perfect. The latte's richness and sweetness were spot-on, creating a wonderfully harmonious drink.
