"Myeongdong"!

What is Myeongdong?
Myeongdong is Seoul's quintessential shopping and tourist district, famous for its endless array of cosmetics, fashion, and accessories. But it's not just shopping; the streets burst with diverse culinary delights like gooey cheese lobster, savory grilled cheese, and sweet hotteok (Korean pancake). With iconic landmarks like Myeongdong Cathedral, charming cafes, and delicious restaurants, it's no wonder international visitors flock here. We highly recommend it as a must-visit spot in Seoul!

Where to Explore in Myeongdong

📍 Red Eye Myeongdong
17 Myeongdong 8ga-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul
Myeongdong is synonymous with shopping and incredible food, right? As we wandered around, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, we stumbled upon a massive Red Eye store. Its sheer size meant an impressive variety of accessories, making it a joy to browse.

📍 Lush Myeongdong
1F, 6 Myeongdong 8-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul
Even my favorite Lush store was here! Unlike some Lush stores, the scent wasn't overpowering, making it a comfortable visit.

📍 Reclow Myeongdong Flagship Store
12 Myeongdong 8na-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul
We also popped into Reclow, which sells unique foldable sunglasses. While the foldable sunglasses were cool, I was particularly captivated by the stylish rain boots on the second floor. If you're a fan of chic rainwear, I definitely recommend checking them out!

📍 HBAF Almond Store Myeongdong Branch 3
51 Myeongdong 10-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul
The popular HBAF almond store was bustling with people. It was a bit crowded, but if you love flavored almonds, it's definitely a fun spot to visit.

📍 Hello Kitty Apple Cafe
1F, 2F, 15 Myeongdong 6-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul
For all the Hello Kitty enthusiasts out there, this charming cafe is impossible to pass by 🎀. You might expect long lines, but surprisingly, it seemed quite relaxed, so you might not even need a reservation. If you adore Hello Kitty, it's a delightful stop!
Myeongdong's Culinary Delights
✨️My personal favorite: The Food!✨️

📍 HEYTEA Myeongdong
9-1 Myeongdong 8ga-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul
We spotted HEYTEA, a popular bubble tea spot I'd tried during a trip to Shanghai. Honestly, in Shanghai, it felt like good value, but here in Korea, I wasn't so sure. My sister and I wanted to try their popular menu items again, but the line was incredibly long, so we decided to skip it this time. ✨ Nonetheless, if you visit Myeongdong, be prepared for a queue, but you can definitely get your HEYTEA fix!
Myeongdong Street Food Extravaganza

Look at this adorable Crocs-shaped bread! It might seem a bit pricey at ~$5, but it was certainly fun to see.

You'll find my absolute favorite: grilled cheese lobster,

giant grilled octopus legs,

crispy fried chicken,

warm fish cakes (eomuk),

various fried snacks (twigim),

Dubai waffles for those who can't get enough of sweets (like me!),

and refreshing fruit drinks.

The variety is truly astounding!
Just a heads-up: around 3:00 PM, some vendors are still setting up or just starting to sell. If you want to experience the full street food scene, we highly recommend visiting in the evening.
Myeongdong Station Facilities

For those arriving in Myeongdong via subway, the underground shopping area, though not huge, is worth a look. Plus, there are luggage storage lockers available, so you can drop off your bags and explore hands-free!
✔︎Our Myeongdong Experience: A Top Seoul Date Spot
Honestly, I was impressed by the sheer number of stylish clothing options and the concentration of cosmetic brands. It's easy to see why Myeongdong is such a renowned shopping destination.
