[Itaewon] Summer Staycation at Mondrian Seoul

📍 Mondrian Seoul Itaewon
23 Jangmun-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul
Check-in 15:00
Check-out 12:00

I usually love traveling with my bestie for vacations—
dressing up in matching outfits, hitting up hot restaurants, and hopping around cute cafes.
But for this summer getaway, neither of us could travel too far,
and we weren't feeling 100% in terms of energy.
So we looked into staycation spots right here in Seoul,
and the moment we saw the infinity pool, we booked it immediately!
It's "Mondrian Seoul Itaewon" haha.
We decided on it instantly since we could also explore the trendy spots around Itaewon during our stay.
To be honest, that room view played a huge part in our decision too.
Tip) We arrived earlier than the official check-in time,
so we hung out and waited in the 2nd-floor lobby.
The infinity pool is located on the 5th floor,
but we chose a room on the 7th floor (Standard King Room).
We thought the 6th floor might get a bit noisy from the pool in the evening,
so we went one floor higher to the 7th floor,
which turned out to be an amazing choice! Haha. The 6th floor is level with the people swimming,
so I highly recommend the 7th floor instead.
(Since your room can be visible from the pool, you absolutely MUST close the curtains when changing clothes! :)
View
First of all, we decided to skip the N Seoul Tower view.
Why? Well, as I'll show you in detail below,
you can get a stunning night view of N Seoul Tower from the Privilege Bar anyway!
So for the room itself, we absolutely, 100% recommend the pool view!

Oh, and although we weren't in the absolute corner room,
this side section of the building was great. haha.
It doesn't feel like people are constantly looking in,
and we were incredibly satisfied with our room view! :)

This is the view right from where you sit on the bed. haha.

This is the famous photo spot where everyone takes pictures! haha.

Standard King Room

Overall, it was super clean, and everything was great except for the bathroom being a bit on the smaller side! haha

Oh, and another reason we chose the pool-view room
was because neither of us was feeling 100%—
so we actually ended up skipping the infinity pool entirely. haha
Down with a summer cold... we both had to pass.
Instead, we just glued ourselves to our room window,
staring out like this to get our fix! T_T
But because of that, we had plenty of time on our hands!
We grabbed an early dinner at the Terrace Wine Bar
and headed up to the Privilege Bar right around sunset.

We absolutely love rooftop bars, especially with an N Seoul Tower view.
Knowing we just *had* to see the sunset from up there,
we wolfed down our dinner and rushed right up! haha

Like I mentioned briefly above,
if you're torn between an N Seoul Tower view and a pool view for your room,
keep in mind that you can get an amazing sunset view of N Seoul Tower from the Privilege Bar!
So personally, I highly recommend booking the pool-view room (at least for summer).

The night view was so stunning that everyone was busy taking photos!

The indoor area of the Privilege Bar has such a wonderful vibe too! :)

Matching in black dresses... Yep, we are totally the kind of duo who loves doing this! haha

We wore these outfits and had dinner out on the outdoor terrace,
but we both got our shoulders sunburned;; haha, we suffered for quite a while ㅠㅠ

Once we got back to our room and night fell, we started getting a bit hungry.
There's a convenience store in the basement, but since it was late,
we noticed there was another convenience store right across the street.
So we quickly ran out to grab some late-night snacks!
We hadn't even gone swimming, but we were both craving cup ramen.. haha

Since I was traveling with a friend, we washed up and did sheet masks together lol
This is my absolute favorite Nosibe sheet mask.
It's the kind of mask that makes your skin absolutely glow the next day.
Whenever I bring this along and have my friends try it,
they're almost always amazed and end up buying it. Highly recommended! lol
“Checking Out”

2nd Floor Lobby

If you're planning a summer staycation in Seoul,
especially for a getaway with friends, I highly recommend the Mondrian!
There are so many great restaurants with amazing vibes nearby,
and tons of facilities to enjoy right inside the hotel.
It's perfect for couples, but I think it's even better for a fun trip with friends! lol
This is the itinerary we followed
during our 1-night stay at the Mondrian! haha
Our route:
*Lunch -> Champ Coffee -> Check-in -> Ori -> Privilege Bar -> Check-out -> Approach
We spent our 2-day, 1-night vacation following this route.
The place we went for lunch on the first day was supposed to be an Instagram-famous hotspot,
but the hygiene, atmosphere, taste, and service were all pretty disappointing... T_T
Since it fell short of expectations, I didn't write a separate post about it. haha
If you're planning a staycation in Itaewon with a friend, definitely keep this in mind!
