Hi everyone! I'm travel blogger Lisa!
Today, I'm excited to introduce you
to the Millennium Hotel Rotorua,
where I stayed during my visit to Rotorua, New Zealand.
It's located right next to the famous
Polynesian Spa, known for its outdoor geothermal hot springs,
making the location absolutely perfect.
Plus, with a grand lobby and vibe that rival a 5-star hotel,
spacious and cozy beds,
a peaceful pool area, and even its own hot springs,
I completely fell in love with this place.

In fact, out of all our accommodations during our New Zealand adventure,
this was by far my absolute favorite.
Along with my review of the Millennium Hotel Rotorua,
I'll also share some discount links so you can book it for less! :)
1. New Zealand Hotel Discount Booking

I did a lot of research and had many worries
when booking our stay in Rotorua, New Zealand.
Due to the unique geothermal terrain,
many reviews mentioned that some accommodations
had a strong sulfur smell inside or fell short
when it came to cleanliness.

So, we decided to skip the cheaper,
motel-style places,
and instead spend just a little more
around ~$96 per night
to secure a comfortable stay.
(Especially since this was a family trip with my parents!)
In the end,
it turned out to be the most satisfying stay
of our entire New Zealand journey.
I'll go into detail about the room condition and hotel facilities
below,
but first, let's look at the price comparison
so you can book it at the absolute best rate.

2. Rotorua Hotel Recommendation: Millennium Hotel

Millennium Hotel Rotorua is nestled
right in the center of Rotorua,
the hub of travel on New Zealand's North Island.

It has a dedicated parking lot right in front
with free parking available,
making it super convenient for travelers
exploring the region with a rental car.

Although it's rated as a 4.5-star hotel,
the grand and beautiful lobby completely rivals any 5-star spot,
giving us a wonderful first impression as soon as we stepped inside.
Our family stayed in various places during our 10-day trip to New Zealand,
but this hotel was by far the most memorable of all.

And right next to the lobby,
you'll find the breakfast restaurant and a gorgeous bar.
They have a 50% off happy hour on wine until 5 PM,
so I just had to treat myself to a glass!
3. Millennium Rotorua Room Review
Superior Queen 2 Room
⏰ Check-in - 14:00
⏰ Check-out - 10:00
🍳 Breakfast Price: 40 NZD (~$20)
🛜 Free Wi-Fi Available

We booked the Superior Queen Room,
which comes with two comfortable queen beds.
(Double occupancy)

I'm not entirely sure why,
but the price was exactly the same as the Superior King Room.
So, to make sure we got a super comfortable night's sleep,
we went with the two-bed option! 🛌
(Probably because the room size is exactly the same!)

The room was incredibly clean.
Even though it has carpeted floors, it was so spotless
that there wasn't a hint of mustiness.
And since it's located right in front of Lake Rotorua and
the Polynesian Spa,
the view was pretty amazing too!

The bathroom was also sparkling clean!
And plenty of fresh towels!
With individually controlled heating and cooling,
we stayed perfectly cozy,
and the small sofa and table
were super handy for placing our things.

In the mini-fridge, we found a classic New Zealand hotel staple.
Instead of water, they provide fresh milk,
which we absolutely loved having with our morning tea!
4. Rotorua Hotel with Hot Springs and a Pool

The absolute deciding factor for choosing this hotel
was the on-site hot springs and
swimming pool.

Rotorua is world-famous for its geothermal hot springs,
and having a small mineral pool right inside the hotel
meant we could soak and unwind without even leaving the property.

While it wasn't as massive as the Polynesian Spa,
it offered the exact same soothing, warm sulfur spring water,
so we happily made the most of it right here!
