Polynesian Spa Rotorua Deluxe Lake Review 2026: Booking & Tips
Is Polynesian Spa Rotorua's Deluxe Lake Spa worth it? Our 2026 review shares insights on Klook booking, prices, and why these geothermal lake-view pools are a must-do New Zealand relaxation. Dive in!

When you look up the Rotorua Polynesian Spa,
the first thing you worry about is the entrance ticket.
Which option should I choose?
Is the ~$44 entrance fee worth it...?
After visiting myself, what stuck with me the most was
the time I spent soaking in the hot springs while gazing at the lake.
After warming up my body in the sulfur springs,
my skin felt so soft... it was truly a wonderful healing experience...🧡
In this post, I'm going to share my review of the
Deluxe Lake Spa, which was absolutely worth every penny!
1. My Polynesian Spa Experience: Soaking with a Lake View

The option I chose at Rotorua's Polynesian Spa in New Zealand was
the Deluxe Lake Spa!
I purchased my ticket through Klook,
and gained entry by showing my mobile voucher.
After changing into my swimsuit and rinsing off,
I stepped into the hot springs! There were several types to choose from. 😄
Alternating between the acidic and alkaline pools,
my skin felt incredibly smooth...😙

There was one area with incredibly hot water,
and it felt particularly high in temperature...
Funnily enough, that's exactly where many Korean seniors were gathered! ㅋㅋ
I followed suit and soaked my body... it was so hot! 😖
It's definitely a spot I think older generations would love!

The cold plunge was too chilly for me, so I skipped it.
Though some people were alternating between hot and cold water...
But what I loved most was the lake view.
Soaking in the water and gazing at the lake was incredibly healing...

The day we visited was cloudy, so we didn't get to see the sunset,
but the experience of enjoying the hot springs with the lake view was wonderful in itself.
We visited Rotorua's Polynesian Spa as part of our New Zealand honeymoon itinerary,
and it was truly amazing... ultimate relaxation! 🧡
2. Why We Chose the Deluxe Lake Spa

There are three main spa options at Rotorua's Polynesian Spa in New Zealand,
and I've compared them directly here.
Comparison Factors | Pavilion Pools | Deluxe Lake Spa | Family Pools |
Features | Hot spring bathing focused | Hot spring bathing & relaxation focused | Water play & hot spring bathing |
Age Restriction | Ages 12+ | All ages | All ages |
Pool Composition | 8 Hot Pools | 5 Hot Pools + 1 Cold Plunge | 1 Main Pool + 2 Hot Pools |
Spring Water Type | 3 Acidic + 5 Alkaline | 1 Acidic + 4 Alkaline | 2 Alkaline |
Temperature | Approx. 38~41℃ | Hot Pools Approx. 36~41℃ | Main Pool 33℃, Hot Pools 37·40℃ |
Lake View | Yes | Yes | No |
Towels & Valuables Locker | Not included in basic admission, rental extra | Included | Not included in basic admission, rental extra |
Showers & Changing Rooms | Yes | Yes | Yes, family changing rooms also available |
Unique Features | Foot reflexology path, deep hot spring pool | Cold pool, heated recliners, indoor relaxation lounge | Small slides, toddler area, lifeguards |

▪️Pavilion Pools: Great value lake view hot springs, ages 12+
▪️Deluxe Lake Spa: Includes towels & locker, cold pool & relaxation lounge
▪️Family Pools: Water play with kids, no lake view
Out of these options, I chose
the Deluxe Lake Spa.
It was about ~$15 more expensive than the Pavilion Pools, but
since towels and a valuables locker were included,
there was less hassle of bringing my own or renting them separately.
Being able to use plenty of towels was especially convenient.

I didn't have to pack my own towel,
and I could avoid the sulfur smell lingering on it.
In the showers, there were both open areas and
private individual stalls.
When I visited, shampoo and conditioner were provided,
but there was no body wash, so you might want to bring your own.
(Though, with sulfur hot springs, you might not even need it! 😉)
After showering, I used the provided hairdryer.

There were also fans in the changing room,
making it pleasant to dry off and get ready.
If convenience after your hot spring soak, beyond just the lake view, is important to you,
I highly recommend the Deluxe Lake Spa option!

3. Operating Hours and What to Bring

I entered around 6 PM and
left at 8:40 PM.
I enjoyed the hot springs for about 2 hours,
and spent the rest of the time showering and getting ready.
Based on my experience,
if you allocate more than 2.5 hours for your visit,
you'll have plenty of time to shower and get ready without feeling rushed.

The only slight downside? The lingering sulfur smell on my swimsuit.
Even after showering, a faint scent remained,
so it's good to be aware of this when you pack.
A swimsuit, body wash, and lotion,
along with a bag for your wet swimsuit,
would make tidying up after your visit much easier.
4. Polynesian Spa Rotorua Prices
Spa Option | Official Website Price | Klook Price |
Pavilion Pools | ~$31 (NZ$54.95) | ~$31 |
Deluxe Lake Spa (Luxury Lake Spa) | ~$47 (NZ$85) | ~$47 |
Family Pools | ~$18 (NZ$32.95) | Adult ~$18 Child ~$8 |
* Calculated based on the exchange rate as of October 6, 2026 (NZ$1 = 751 KRW)
I've organized the prices for each Polynesian Spa Rotorua option in New Zealand.
I also compared prices between the official website and Klook.
When I made my reservation, the price difference between the official website and Klook was about ~$0 (around 200 KRW),
but now, the price difference is practically non-existent.
5. Book on Klook for Discounts Instead of the Official Website

The price difference wasn't significant, so for easy booking,
I purchased my admission tickets in advance on Klook,
and on-site, I simply showed my mobile voucher
and entered with ease.
My reservation didn't require separate printing,
which made it super convenient even during our New Zealand honeymoon.

The Deluxe Lake Spa I used at Polynesian Spa
can be found on Klook under the
"Luxury Lake Spa" option.

The Deluxe Lake Spa (Luxury Lake Spa)
price per adult is ~$47,
but if you apply the Klook discount code 세시간전2600001
which gives ~$1 off for purchases over ~$37,
you can get it for a final payment of ~$46!
