Our Experience: Check-In & Superior King Room Review
To squeeze in a bit of Seoul sightseeing the day before our flight,
we booked a Superior King Room.
Here's our full experience, from check-in to check-out!

When we first arrived at the hotel,
the building was so massive that finding our way around was a bit tricky.
To help you out, let me start with a quick breakdown of the floors!
While the lobby is listed on the 1st floor,
you actually need to head up to the 6th floor to check in.
The 6th floor is also home to the restaurant, fitness center, and bar.
Guest rooms are located on floors 7 through 13.
As a handy tip, the 2nd basement level (B2) is directly connected
to a variety of great restaurants and a Daiso store!

Once you step off the elevator on the 6th floor, you'll find a spacious and modern lobby
where you can check in.
The process was incredibly smooth and quick once they verified our booking.

I was assigned Room 856 and headed up to the 8th floor,
and wow, the hotel hallway area was incredibly spacious and long.
Since the hotel is so massive, there were tons of rooms!

Opening the door to my room, I was pleasantly surprised by how much larger
and cleaner it was than I had expected.
Since it’s a brand-new hotel built in 2024,
everything inside looked absolutely pristine and fresh.

The bedroom featured a massive king-sized bed,
and right by the headboard, there was a master light control panel,
along with chargers and USB ports. It was super convenient
to charge my phone right beside me while sleeping.
Plus, the bed was unbelievably plush and cozy,
perfect for melting away all the fatigue from traveling up from the countryside.

By the window, there was a cozy setup with two sofas and a small table.
The sofas were so comfortable and welcoming,
making it the perfect little spot for some late-night snacks!

Near the entrance, there was a fairly generous closet space
along with various amenities neatly laid out.

It came with the essentials: room slippers, bottled water, tea, and coffee,
but nothing too out of the ordinary beyond that.

The bathroom was located to the left of the room entrance.
The sink and toilet were in the main area,
while the shower stall was completely separated.
The toilet area was quite spacious and equipped with a bidet,
which was a huge plus for me!

By the sink, there was one large mirror and a smaller vanity mirror,
along with liquid hand soap, body lotion, and a shower cap.
Since disposable dental kits aren't provided,
I highly recommend bringing your own toiletries.
(I forgot mine and ended up buying some at the Daiso downstairs... 😅)

The shower room had a walk-in setup with just a showerhead and no tub,
but it was incredibly spacious and drained really well.
Body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were all fully provided,
so you don't have to worry about packing your own toiletries!

Lastly, here is the view from the room I stayed in.
Although it's partially blocked by a studio apartment building in front,
the open street view stretching out between them was actually quite nice.
It was especially beautiful at night when the nearby buildings lit up,
while the dark, endless road faded into the distance.
Just keep in mind that since there are so many rooms facing different directions,
the view can vary quite a bit from room to room!
The Ultimate Choice Before Heading to Gimpo Airport

Today, I introduced Mercure Magok, where I stayed the night
before flying out from Gimpo Airport.
Since it was newly built in 2024, the quality was exceptional,
and the entire hotel was so spacious and clean
that it truly felt like a proper staycation.
Plus, with the Seoul Botanic Park right in front of the hotel,
it was perfect for a refreshing morning walk,
and its close proximity to Gimpo Airport made getting there incredibly easy.
If you want to enjoy a relaxing staycation before flying out from Gimpo Airport,
or if you'd like to explore Seoul for a day before your trip,
I highly recommend this hotel.
Just like the comparison table at the top of this post,
I highly recommend comparing prices across booking sites before you book!
