Mayfield Hotel Seoul Review 2026: Family Suite & Shuttle

Our visit on a beautiful early winter day to

Mayfield Hotel,

and here's our review of the Family Suite Twin Room.

Located in Gangseo-gu, Seoul,

Mayfield Hotel offers a serene escape

within the city, making you feel like you've stepped into a peaceful countryside retreat.

Nestled near Gimpo Airport,

and right next to Korean Air headquarters,

it's also famously known as a favored hotel for flight attendants.

Mayfield Hotel is also renowned for its

beautiful landscaping and traditional Korean hanok buildings.

Its hanok restaurants, Bongnaehon and Nagwon,

are particularly popular venues for family gatherings

and doljanchi (first birthday celebrations).

You'll find the lobby a bit further inside.

The lobby area was spacious and wonderfully tranquil.

Check-in is typically at 3 PM,

but we arrived around 2 PM and were pleasantly surprised when

they kindly allowed us an early check-in! 🤗

The lobby also features a bakery and a cafe,

but as expected for a 5-star hotel,

the prices are a bit on the higher side.

During spring or summer,

it would be absolutely lovely to enjoy a cup of coffee

out on the outdoor terrace.

Family Suite Twin Room Review

We booked a one-night stay for the first Sunday-Monday of November,

and the price, including tax, was around ~$248.

The suite rooms are located in a separate annex building,

so we had to transfer there after checking in at the main lobby.

On the first floor, there was a CU convenience store and a small cafe.

The 1st floor is home to the lobby and the sparkling pool,

B1 is where you'll find the energizing gym,

and floors 2-3 are dedicated entirely to our cozy guest rooms.

Here's something I found a little unexpected:

maybe because the hotel is tucked away in a slightly secluded spot,

the elevators operated without needing a card key scan.

But don't worry, security is still a priority! Once you reached your guest room floor, you still had to scan your card key to access the corridors leading to the rooms.

Once you've scanned your card key and stepped onto your floor,

prepare to be charmed! You're greeted by a beautiful central atrium flooding the corridor with natural light.

The Mayfield Hotel truly impressed me with its thoughtful landscaping details, evident in every corner 🌲.

Our home for this adventure was room No. 377.

After a quick peek at the floor plan, it seemed this particular Family Suite Twin Room was actually the widest and longest of its kind!

Quite a unique layout, indeed 👀.

Swing open the door to your room, and you're immediately welcomed by a comfortable sofa and a convenient kitchen area.

The plush velvet sofa and soft rug instantly created a warm and inviting atmosphere.

It turns out, while Mayfield Hotel has renovated its standard rooms,

the suite rooms haven't had their makeover just yet,

so you can definitely feel the charming traces of time in their design!

It actually gave off a cozy guesthouse vibe, which I found quite endearing 🤣.

You'll find kitchen facilities and even a washing machine –

though a heads-up, the induction cooktop wasn't operational.

But don't let that deter you! The refrigerator was generously sized,

and having that fantastic island table was perfect

for preparing simple snacks, like slicing up some fresh fruit.

Super handy!

Get this – there were actually two bathrooms! Talk about convenience!

Right beside the bathroom, you'll discover a wonderfully spacious dressing room area.

And how about this – a separate vanity table! It was absolutely perfect for getting ready.

Beyond the dressing room, another main bathroom awaits!

And a little luxury detail: the amenities were from aquasenses,

a fantastic German brand. Such a thoughtful touch!

The washbasin, shower area, and toilet were

all separated, which was really pleasant and convenient.

Past the two bathrooms and the dressing room,

you finally arrive at the bedroom area.

The Family Suite Twin Room is

configured with one single bed and one double bed.

Next to the bed, there was also another round sofa.

On the bed, there was a card with the name of the room attendant

who was responsible for cleaning the room,

which really boosted our trust and confidence.

Beyond that, there were so many chairs and relaxation areas...!

My friend loved it for getting some work done,

and immediately set up their laptop at a corner table

that felt just like a study.

Can you get a sense of how long and

spacious the area is overall?

After ordering some sashimi for dinner,

we decided to go out for a stroll and explore Mayfield Hotel.

Mayfield Hotel was beautiful during the day, but once the lights came on,

it became even more stunning.

The walking paths, including the Pine Tree Garden and the Bell Tower Garden,

were truly well-maintained.

Many people, in particular, take photos with that Bell Tower as a backdrop.

I even heard that wedding photos are taken there!

As we peacefully explored Mayfield Hotel,

the sun had already begun to set.

The indoor and outdoor spaces

blend seamlessly, so

if you're strolling around and feel a chill, you can easily pop back inside –

making it a fantastic winter hotel-cation spot.

Even from indoors, the outdoor landscaping sparkles beautifully.

And just like that, after a relaxing one-night, two-day stay,

I thoroughly enjoyed my hotel-cation experience.

No need to head to the main lobby for checkout!

There's an Express Checkout box

on the first floor of the annex lobby,

so you just drop off your key card and you're good to go!

Mayfield Hotel Free Shuttle

One slight drawback of Mayfield Hotel is

its somewhat tricky location.

While it's perfectly fine if you're driving,

getting there by public transport can be a bit inconvenient. That's why they operate a

free shuttle bus service to and from

Gimpo Airport, Magok Station, and Magoknaru Station.

at Mayfield Hotel!

Overall, while the room condition was a slight letdown,

I truly enjoyed the luxurious hotel-cation experience with its

stunning landscaping and spacious room.

However, I think the renovated standard rooms would

also be fantastic, so if I visit again, I'd love to try

staying in a standard room instead of a suite.

The Mayfield Hotel pool was also incredible,

but this post is getting a bit long,

so I'll write a separate one about it! 🤗
