Mayfield Hotel Gimpo Airport Review 2026: Superior Twin
My husband and I recently enjoyed a relaxing staycation at Mayfield Hotel, near Gimpo Airport. Read our honest review of the Superior Twin Room and practical parking tips!

My husband and I recently enjoyed a wonderful 'hocance' (a hotel vacation) at the Mayfield Hotel's Superior Twin Room.
Though it's in Seoul, it felt like a quiet getaway in a countryside atmosphere. I'm excited to share my honest, personally funded review! 🤗

The Mayfield Hotel is located right in front of Gimpo Airport, on the western edge of Seoul.
Apparently, it was a popular spot for 'sanggyeonnye' (formal family meetings before marriage) back in my parents' generation. 🤭 That gives you a sense of its history and tradition, doesn't it?
With its beautiful landscaping, it's still a beloved venue for weddings and 'doljanchi' (first birthday parties) today!

Mayfield Hotel Parking
The Mayfield Hotel's parking lot is divided into two sections: P1 and P2.
P1 is located near the golf driving range and the annex building, while P2 is an outdoor parking lot closer to the main entrance. However, I noticed a sign there warning about sap damage.

It was recommended to use the P1 parking lot if possible, even though P2 is a bit closer to the hotel's main entrance.
Also, good news for EV owners: there were plenty of electric vehicle charging stations in P2, so keep that in mind!
For our 2-night, 3-day stay, we initially parked in P2 to unload our luggage, but then moved to P1 for the rest of our visit!

We arrived around 2:30 PM, and there were about 9 groups ahead of us for check-in.
Estimated wait time: 14 minutes!

So, we waited briefly in the designated waiting area within Castle Terrace, their breakfast restaurant, before checking in.
Last time, when I came with friends, we arrived around 2 PM and were able to check in early right away.
So, it might be a good idea to arrive a little earlier if you can! 😉

Check-in at Mayfield Hotel is at 3 PM, and check-out is at 11 AM.
The express check-out system and complimentary minibar were particularly convenient.
They also offer a free hotel shuttle bus to Gimpo Airport and Magoknaru Station.
Mayfield Hotel Superior Twin Room

We were assigned room 411.

The first thing that surprised me upon entering was the wood-patterned linoleum floor, haha!
While the familiar feel made it comfortable to use, it was a bit unexpected.

The interior design also had more of a stately, slightly dated feel, rather than being overtly luxurious haha. It definitely had a worn but comfortable vibe.
You can tell the wooden tables and furniture have some years on them, right?

To the left of the entrance, there was a refrigerator, coffee pot, and mugs.

The refrigerator contains two bottles of mineral water, sparkling water, Coke, and Sprite.
Mayfield Hotel has a free minibar policy, so all the drinks in the refrigerator are available for you to enjoy freely, at no extra cost :)

Inside the closet, you'll find plenty of bathrobes and hangers.

To the right of the entrance door, you'll find the bathroom.
The bathroom was beautifully designed with clean marble and natural wood, featuring a combined bathtub and shower stall.

The amenities are from the brand AquaSenses.

The hairdryer was wall-mounted, and it was perfectly decent to use.

On the bed, you'll find a welcome card with the name of your room attendant.

If you're staying for two nights or more and wish to have your bedding changed, you'll need to place this green card on the bed.

By the window, there's a small table and a single chair,

And this is what the Superior Twin Room looks like from the comfort of the bed.

The landscaping is truly beautiful, but since it's near the airport, there's a bit of airplane noise,
And perhaps because it's an older hotel, the soundproofing isn't perfect, so you might occasionally hear sounds from the next room or the hallway.
For us, it wasn't bothersome enough to disrupt our stay, but if you're sensitive to noise, keep in mind that they offer earplugs upon request!

As for the Mayfield Hotel's swimming pool, during afternoon hours, you can only enter by choosing one of the three available time slots.
Since we stayed for two nights, we received two entry tickets. Don't forget that you absolutely need to bring this ticket when you go to the pool!
On the morning of your checkout day, you can enter freely without an admission ticket.

What's more, on the morning of our checkout day during our 3-day, 2-night stay, we even pre-booked and enjoyed breakfast!
