Lucid M Pension
If you're looking for a quiet escape in Seogwipo, Jeju Island, complete with
sweeping nature views away from the crowds,
the Mount Sanbangsan area is your absolute best bet.
It's famous for its vast, bright yellow canola flower fields in the spring,
and you'll find plenty to see and do nearby,
from Yongmeori Coast and Sagye Beach to the carbonated hot springs.
For our recent 2026 family trip, we needed a room for three
and booked a stay at Lucid M Pension near Mount Sanbangsan.
With prices in the low ~$77 range including breakfast,
the value for money is genuinely unbeatable 👍
Here's a breakdown of exactly why I highly recommend it,
especially if you're traveling with kids or older parents.

Location & Parking at Lucid M Pension

A spring trip to Jeju is all about flower viewing,
and since this pension is right by Mount Sanbangsan,
Jeju's most famous spot for canola flowers, everywhere you look is vibrant yellow!

Manor Blanc Cafe, famous for its seasonal blooms year-round,
is just a 4-minute drive away, while Norimae Park, perfect for a stroll, is only 15 minutes away.
(Sosaekchaebon Cafe, currently trending for its canola views, is just 7 minutes away!)
The location is absolutely top-tier 😊
Yongmeori Coast—a spot I barely managed to enter after visiting Jeju
over a dozen times—is right out front, so you could spend a whole day
just exploring the immediate area around the pension.

Parking is plentiful, with spaces right in front of the building
and across the street. They even have EV charging stations available.
Inside the Duplex Suite
Since this was a family trip, we needed a room for three.
Lucid M Pension has a huge variety of room types
accommodating 2 to 4 people.
We decided to live out our loft-living dreams while on vacation!

We stayed in Room 305, a Duplex Suite.
There's an elevator, making it super easy to bring up luggage.
As soon as we walked in, my first thought was, 'Wow, this is quite spacious!'

From the wardrobe and vanity to the fridge, TV, sofa,
and a rocking chair we all fought over,
it has absolutely everything you need without feeling cluttered.

There's a double bed on the first floor and a sleeping mat in the loft,
which is definitely wide enough for two people to sleep comfortably.

Looking straight ahead, you get a distant view of Hyeongjeseom Island and the ocean.
There's also plenty of space in front of the sofa,
making it the perfect spot for some evening Jeju makgeolli (rice wine) :)

Here's the full layout looking down from the loft.
While it doesn't feel brand-new, the cleanliness was impeccable.
I couldn't find a single stray hair anywhere.

Even though the room can accommodate up to four people,
since we booked for three, they perfectly prepped
the towels, bottled water, and coffee for exactly three guests.

There's a water purifier and microwave in the 1st-floor hallway,
so you never have to worry about running out of drinking water.

The bathroom is wonderfully spacious,
and the hot water and water pressure were fantastic.
They provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap,
but remember to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste!

The ladder up to the loft is quite steep,
so it's definitely better for kids or older parents to sleep on the first floor.
That being said, the cozy vibe up on the second floor was amazing :)
Free Breakfast at Lucid M Pension

Honestly, I'm not usually a big breakfast person,
but when traveling with parents or kids,
a morning meal is non-negotiable.
Since Lucid M Pension offers complimentary breakfast,
you save so much time and hassle not having to hunt for a restaurant early in the morning!

Head down to the first floor between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM,
and you'll be treated to a home-cooked style breakfast prepared by the owners.
It was so quiet the night before I hadn't realized how many guests were staying,
especially for a weekday during the off-season.

Side dishes are served buffet-style so you can take what you like,
while the main soup or stew and rice are portioned out per person.

On our morning, they served tteok-manduguk (rice cake and dumpling soup).
It was so comforting and mild, just like a true home-cooked meal.

You can ask for rice refills and grab more side dishes too,
so we started our day of exploring fully fueled 😁

Right outside the 1st-floor dining area is a garden with a view of Mount Sanbangsan.
They have coffee available for dessert,
making it a lovely spot for a post-breakfast stroll.
Why It's the Best Budget Stay Near Sanbangsan
It's always frustrating when places claim to be "budget-friendly"
but end up costing ~$138 or ~$146...

But at Lucid M Pension, a room for two can easily be under ~$77,
and even for three people, it's only around ~$85 to ~$100.
Now that's what I call true value!
If you book through Naver, the base occupancy is 2 people,
meaning you have to pay an extra ~$13 for every additional guest
aged elementary school and older.

However, when I checked Trip.com (my go-to booking site),
you can pay for the 3-person or 4-person rate upfront,
which actually works out much cheaper than Naver booking!

Don't Miss the 30% Off Tansan Hot Springs
Perfect for an Evening Soak!
It happened to rain on the day we visited, leaving us feeling chilly,
so with the Tansan Hot Springs so close and a discount coupon in hand,
we simply had to go! lol
(Just ask the owners and they'll give you a business card that gets you the discount!)
This discount is actually cheaper than buying hot spring tickets online,
and soaking away the travel fatigue in the evening was pure bliss!

Jeju Island has plenty of Instagram-aesthetic accommodations,
but they are often too pricey if you just need a place to shower and sleep.
If you're a practical traveler like me,
finding a family stay in the low ~$77 range is an absolute win!
If you're hunting for a place near Mount Sanbangsan that even throws in breakfast,
definitely give Lucid M Pension a look :)
