Hello, I'm Risteard, your travel influencer from Naver!
Looking for an exciting day out or a memorable date spot in Seoul? Lotte World in Jamsil is a top pick!
I recently visited Lotte World for the first time since their Magic Pass system was updated.
I'm excited to share my firsthand experience and tips for making the most of your visit with the Magic Pass.
1. Lotte World Information

Lotte World Adventure, nestled in Jamsil, Seoul, first opened its doors in 1989. A year later, Magic Island was added, completing the iconic indoor and outdoor theme park we know today.
Its direct connection to Jamsil Subway Station makes it incredibly accessible. Plus, with a significant indoor section, it's a fantastic option for enjoying rides comfortably, even on scorching summer days or rainy afternoons.
Operating hours are typically 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on weekdays and 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on weekends.
2. Admission Ticket Discounts

Lotte World's admission tickets come in two main types: the 1-Day Pass, which grants you full access during the park's operating hours, and the After 4 Pass, allowing entry and unlimited rides from 4:00 PM onwards.

While the standard 1-Day Pass for an adult is ~$43, you should *never* pay full price! Lotte World always offers various discounts and promotions.
The deepest discounts often come from affiliated credit card promotions. For instance, you might find a 1-Day Pass, originally ~$43, discounted by up to 52% to around ~$21 when booked online. Plus, a companion often receives a 30% discount too!
In the past, many credit cards offered close to 50% off, but these days the options can be a bit more limited. I looked into other ways to save, and here's what I found:
If you don't have an eligible credit card, you can often find great deals on travel ticket platforms like Klook, Trip.com, or KKday.
1-Day Pass | ~$28 | ~$29 | ~$29 |
After 4 Pass | ~$23 | ~$25 | ~$25 |
When I checked, Klook offered the lowest prices, but keep in mind that rates can fluctuate based on the booking date, platform promotions, or your membership tier.
3. Magic Pass Purchase Review

The Magic Pass is essentially a fast-pass ticket that grants you priority access to attractions via a dedicated entrance, significantly reducing wait times. Remember, it's an *add-on* and does not include your park admission; you'll need to purchase both a Magic Pass and an entry ticket.
Back on April 3rd, the Magic Pass options were updated. Previously, there were 7-ride passes, but now all passes are for 5 rides and come with specific attraction restrictions depending on the type you choose.
The Magic Pass currently comes in three tiers: Light for ~$35, Standard A/B for ~$42, and Premium for ~$51.

Each tier also dictates which attractions you can use your 5 fast-passes on.
The Light Pass, for example, is primarily for the newer MapleStory-themed attractions.
The Standard A/B passes allow you to fast-track rides like Atlantis, Flume Ride, French Revolution, Spanish Pirate Ship, and Comet Express.

The Premium Pass includes all the Standard A/B attractions, plus Pharaoh's Fury.
Even though all passes offer 5 rides, the higher price for Premium felt a bit steep to me, so I opted for the Standard A Pass.

Another crucial point is the pre-sale. While the Premium Pass was previously available from midnight two days before your visit, all Magic Pass tiers now go on sale at 8:30 AM on the day of your visit.
I witnessed Standard passes selling out completely within just 1-2 minutes! While the website wasn't crashing, tickets vanished incredibly fast.

I almost missed out, but thankfully, a small batch of tickets was released around 8:50 AM, and I managed to snag one quickly.
The Magic Pass can only be purchased through the Lotte World app, and unfortunately, there are no additional discounts available for it.

To use your Magic Pass, simply present your QR code at the designated Magic Pass entrance for each attraction, where a staff member will scan it.
After experiencing both Magic Pass lines and regular queues, the value of the Magic Pass became incredibly clear. If your budget allows, I wholeheartedly recommend getting one!
5. Conclusion

Based on my personal experience, while the Lotte World Magic Pass is an additional expense, it delivers satisfaction far beyond its cost.
Its effectiveness is particularly noticeable on busy days, like weekends or during peak season, when wait times can be extensive.
If you're planning a trip to Lotte World in Jamsil, I highly recommend first securing your admission ticket with a discount, then considering adding a Magic Pass for an even smoother and more enjoyable day.
I hope this review helps you prepare for your fantastic Lotte World adventure!
