With the season of family outings and beautiful weather here,
I bet many of you are busy planning your next getaway.
Whether you're visiting with kids, as a couple, or with a group of friends,
Lotte World Seoul is bound to be on everyone's bucket list
around this time of year, right?
But when you actually search online to plan your trip,
the reality of the one-day pass price can be
a bit of a shock...
To make matters worse, starting April 1st,
adult ticket prices have gone up to ~$43
And with the opening of Maple Island, the crowds have grown too...
So today, I’m sharing some super useful
Seoul Jamsil Lotte World discount hacks
along with my honest Maple Island review from my recent visit! :)
Lotte World One-Day Pass Discount: Where to Find the Cheapest Tickets Right Now
Lotte World Tips & Seoul Lotte World One-Day Pass Discount
Let's start with the most-asked question:
How to get the best discounts for
Lotte World Maple Island..!

If you buy your ticket at the gate, it's naturally the regular price of ~$43.
But who pays full price these days...?!
If you have an affiliated credit card that offers a 50% discount,
that's going to be your absolute cheapest option.

But if you don't have an affiliated card like me,
or if you have to rely on a 30% companion discount,
booking through a travel booking site is actually cheaper.
Even with the 30% companion discount, it's ~$30,
but you can grab your one-day pass for less than that on this site.
* Lowest price as of July 20th
These days, the ticket booth lines are insanely long,
but with these mobile tickets, you can enter immediately after booking!
Maple Island at Lotte World

Running from April 3rd to June 14th,
the Lotte World x MapleStory Collaboration!
Even the name "Maple Island" gets your heart racing.
If you've ever played MapleStory,
this is one name you simply can't ignore...
As soon as you step inside Jamsil Lotte World's indoor area,
you'll see an entire space beautifully themed after Henesys.

And the very first thing that catches your eye is
the "Create Your Own MapleStory Lotte World Character" station.
It's an interactive experience where you can import your actual Nexon character
and display it on the giant pillars, but...

To be completely honest about Lotte World's Maple Island,
I waited for over 10 minutes at this station,
and my character just wouldn't show up on the screen.....
So I eventually gave up and moved on.
If you hate waiting in lines, you can honestly
skip this experience without missing out on much.
Unless you have kids or are a hardcore fan of the game,
just keep in mind that the wait times can be incredibly long.
Pro Tips for the Merch Shop

The most common piece of advice from people who've visited
is always about the official merchandise shop.
The outdoor Maple Store located in Magic Island usually has a massive line.

But here's a secret: there are separate merchandise shops on the 1st floor and basement level indoors,
and they carry the exact same items, brand new and packaged!
If you wait in line for the outdoor Maple Store,
you'll mostly find items without packaging
that have already been handled by tons of people.

Did you know that the indoor shops have the exact same items, neatly packaged?
In fact, the indoor shops often have a much wider variety of limited-edition merch!
So, I highly recommend checking out the indoor shops first before heading outside.

There is a merch shop right before you take the elevator
out to Magic Island..!

Also, if you purchased the MapleStory Random
Buff Package admission ticket,
make sure to claim your free gift at the indoor merch shop!
Maple Island Attractions

Right image source: Lotte World Instagram
If you head straight out to Magic Island,
you'll spot 3 brand-new attractions.
Eos Tower
Gives you a mini-Gyro Drop vibe at 11 meters high, bouncing up and down!

Arcana Ride
A ride where the sharp turns are the main highlight. Definitely scaled for younger kids.

Overall, these aren't massive thrill rides;
they are perfectly suited for children.

If you scored a discount on your Lotte World Daily Pass and are craving real adrenaline,
you're much better off heading straight for
Atlantis or the French Revolution rather than the Maple Island attractions.
Pro Tips for Parade Times

Most people don't go to Lotte World just for the rides.
Catching the parades and the "World of Light" show is the perfect way
to get the absolute most out of your day! :)
Let's Play! Adventure Parade
Every day at 2:00 PM, Adventure 1st Floor
+ Starting Friday, April 24th,
the MapleStory-themed parade is open..!
World of Light
Every day at 8:00 PM, Adventure 1st Floor
Magic Castle Lights Up
(MapleStory 3D Mapping Show)
Every day at 8:40 PM
For the parade, I highly recommend securing
a spot along the center line 20–30 minutes in advance.
For the night show, grabbing a spot directly in front
of the Magic Castle around 7:30 PM is absolutely perfect.
In April, the Magic Castle mapping show
features MapleStory visuals, so if you're
a Maple fan, this is an absolute must-see!
For Those Visiting with Kids

Now, a few tips for those visiting with kids..!
While Lotte World is incredibly fun,
it can also be absolutely exhausting.....!
If you're traveling from afar and making a full day of it,
arrive early to secure a prime parking spot
(highly recommend Basement Level 3/B3)

I also highly recommend packing plenty of snacks for the little ones,
and bringing along portable folding stools.

As soon as you enter, you'll see rides right away, but skip those first!
Book Kidstoria first,
then head outdoors to enjoy Maple Island + Boong Boong Car, etc.
After that, head back inside and work your way down from the 4th floor.
This path will save you a ton of waiting in lines compared to everyone else.
During parade times, the kids' rides tend to be super quiet.
If your family isn't too interested in the parade,
focusing on the rides during this window is a fantastic strategy..!
