when you're looking for a summer date spot,
you naturally seek out amazing indoor places.
I tend to have a lot of 'home dates' when it's hot,
but hey, going out once in a while makes things exciting! ✨
During the scorching summer, a date at Lotte World Mall in Jamsil
is also a fantastic option.
There's so much to see, plus tons of restaurants and cafes,
making it a surprisingly great spot when you're looking for things to do in Jamsil.
Among all those options, today I want to introduce you to
Lotte World Aquarium, located right inside Lotte World Mall! 🐠
First things first, before you visit, you're probably curious about ticket prices, right?
I compared prices from MyRealTrip, Yanolja NOL, and KKday
and at the time I checked,
the discounted Lotte World Aquarium prices were quite similar across all three.

Based on my check in July 2026,
KKday was slightly cheaper by a few cents.
However, prices for these admission tickets can vary
depending on the date you check or ongoing promotions,
so I recommend comparing them once before booking.
The price difference between the three isn't huge,
so it's perfectly fine to book through a platform you frequently use
or where you can apply coupons.
No matter where you book, you'll definitely get a much better deal
than buying tickets on-site!
Buying an adult single admission ticket on-site can be quite a burden, costing around the upper ~$20s,
but with online discounted tickets, you're looking at the ~$19 range, so booking in advance is definitely more advantageous! 🍀
My Lotte World Aquarium Jamsil Review
When I visited Jamsil Aquarium before,
I went thinking I'd just look at some fish.
But once I actually went in, there was so much more to see than I expected,
and if you take your time taking photos and looking around,
time really flies by.
That day, I took 300 photos with my camera alone!
I think I took over 100 on my phone too.
I saw stingrays, otters, belugas,
and even colorful tropical fish🐟
My boyfriend and I went once when we were still in the 'getting to know each other' phase,
and then we visited again after we officially started dating,
and both times were absolutely delightful.
Recently, a fantastic new space called <Aqua Gallery: Water Light Garden> opened.
I've been seeing photos of it frequently on Instagram lately,
so I really want to visit again next time!
It's said to feature various forms of aquariums arranged within a dimly lit space,
showcasing small fish.
What's more, it reinterprets traditional Korean aesthetics,
with media art and lighting effects,
creating a truly mystical atmosphere.
Seeing the photos, it looks so beautiful that it makes me want to go again.
I think it would be a delightful experience for anyone who loves photogenic spots
or atmospheric exhibitions.
When I went before, the Aqua Gallery: Water Light Garden wasn't there yet,
so I didn't get to see it, but I really loved the large tanks themselves.
I enjoyed simply watching the fish swim slowly,
and if it wasn't too crowded,
it was wonderful to just sit in front of the massive tanks for a while.
The first time I went, it was a weekday evening,
so it wasn't very crowded, and I remember sitting in front of the tank for quite a while with my then-potential-boyfriend (now actual boyfriend).
We felt like we were immersed deep in the ocean.
It's also a great spot for dates, offering a lovely atmosphere to chat while exploring,
making it a perfect Jamsil activity for couples who are just getting to know each other
or already deep in love! ✨
The otters were so incredibly cute, I spent ages watching them!!
I heard they have capybaras now, too, so I definitely need to go again to see them 💕
One of the biggest advantages of Jamsil Aquarium is that
it's not affected by the weather.
Since it's summer and monsoon season now, it's hot,
and there are so many days when it's sunny in the morning but suddenly starts raining.
On days like these, spending time indoors is the most comfortable option!
After visiting Lotte World Aquarium,
you can have a meal at Lotte World Mall, grab coffee at a cafe,
and even just casually browse popup stores or clothing shops as you walk around.
Seriously, a whole day flies by in no time!
That's why I wholeheartedly recommend Lotte World Aquarium to anyone looking for indoor activities in Jamsil, Seoul.
I personally went on a date there and loved it,
and for a family outing with kids,
being able to see fish and marine life up close could be quite educational too!
At the end, there's also a souvenir shop
with a wide variety of items from dolls to keyrings and figures,
so browsing the souvenirs was a fun experience in itself.

if you take your time to look around, time flies by quickly,
so I recommend setting aside a relaxed 1 hour 30 minutes.
If you're visiting with kids who love aquariums,
you'll find yourselves stopping frequently to explore,
so it might be a good idea to plan for about 2 hours.
In July and August, when the weather is hot like it is these days,
or during the monsoon season when it rains often,
instead of strictly looking for outdoor activities in Jamsil,
I recommend planning your outing to an indoor space like this
where you can spend quality time.

relax in front of the massive tank,

As of July 2026, KKday offered the cheapest single tickets at ~$19, and AFTER 5 tickets at ~$17. Myrealtrip and YanoljaNOL had similar prices, with single tickets at ~$19 and AFTER 5 tickets at ~$17.
Lotte World Aquarium operates from 10 AM to 8 PM, Monday through Thursday. From Friday to Sunday, it operates from 10 AM to 10 PM.
For general visitors who wish to take photos and explore slowly, it's recommended to allow about 1 hour and 30 minutes. If you're visiting with children, it's best to anticipate about 2 hours, as there will be more stops for viewing.
