Lotte Super Gongdeok Store, conveniently located right by Gongdeok Station in Mapo, making it easy to pop in!
It recently reopened on September 17th after a renovation, so I went to check it out myself!
Before, it had a stronger premium feel,
but now it feels like a well-stocked mini-supermarket, with an atmosphere that makes it much more comfortable to drop in for groceries!
conveniently sized, pre-portioned, or individually packaged options, and with the time sales making things quite affordable, I thought it would be great not just for locals, but also for travelers staying at hotels near Gongdeok Station. I actually saw many tourists there!
So, I've brought you a look at ✅️ everything from the atmosphere of the renovated Lotte Super Gongdeok Store to what the products are actually like!
(Just a review I whipped up, though I didn't receive any compensation from Lotte Super,,)
If you're planning a 'hocance' (hotel vacation) in Gongdeok, be sure to check out the Lotte City Hotel Mapo accommodation review below too :)
Lotte Super Gongdeok Store Location
Operating Hours 10:00~23:00
📍 Lotte Super Gongdeok Store
B101-13~15, 109 Mapo-daero, Mapo-gu, Seoul

If you head from Gongdeok Station towards Lotte Castle, you'll see a sign like this announcing the completion of the renovation.
It's located on B1 of Lotte Castle, Gongdeok Station!

B1 is this floor, so you don't need to go down any further!
After passing Subway, a tailor shop, and an escalator, you'll immediately turn and find Lotte Super.

You can check out the weekly or seasonal discount information before you go in~
While it's not as big as the nearby E-Mart (maybe about half a floor?), they have shopping carts readily available.
Lotte Super Gongdeok Store Entrance
Operating Hours 10:00~23:00

Opening hours are from 10 AM to 11 PM!
Locals in the area can even get free same-day delivery for purchases over ~$37.

Overall, the store is bright and neatly organized,
and it felt like there was a much more welcoming atmosphere for grocery shopping than before!
They had everything imaginable: vegetables, meat, chilled foods, frozen foods, sauces, and more.

Besides groceries, they also have a good selection of household essentials like cleaning supplies and sanitary products.
Fruits, Prepared Foods, and Side Dishes are Here Too

There was a pretty wide variety of seasonal fruits available,
It seemed like a great place to pick up fruits, vegetables, or simple ingredients to eat at home or during a 'hocance' in Mapo.
Of course, it varies by item, but it felt like there were more frequent small events and sales compared to E-Mart Gongdeok!

And check out the **to-go food and banchan (side dishes)**, which were already so popular before!
There's a fantastic variety of ready-to-eat foods like Dakgangjeong (sweet crispy fried chicken), Hoe (sashimi), Sushi, Unagi Donburi (eel rice bowl), Yangjangpi (jellyfish salad), and Gimbap!
Perfect for a picnic at Gyeongui Line Forest Park, or when you're enjoying a 'hocance' (hotel vacation) and just want to grab something delicious without having to venture too far!

The **bakery** selection was also of great quality,
and the **banchan (side dishes)** were so fresh and neatly prepared, making it super useful for anyone stocking up on groceries for home-cooked meals.
The portions are just right for enjoying that day,
and if you catch the closing time sales after work, you can get some amazing value!
What's even better, **Lotte City Hotel Mapo is located in the same Lotte Castle building as Lotte Super Gongdeok,**
so if you're planning a trip to Seoul or a relaxing 'hocance,' you can easily grab your groceries and then unwind in comfort at the hotel.

From Alcohol to Ice Cream, Even Better Because They're Sold Individually!

First off, there was a great variety of dairy products and beverages,
and I particularly loved that there were often time-limited sales on dairy items like yogurt and milk! 😄

I also made sure to check out the **alcoholic beverages and snacks** — essential for any 'hocance'!
Some snacks were discounted to ~$1, and they also had a great variety of their own private label products,
so if you find large snack bags too much or you're looking for budget-friendly treats, this place is absolutely perfect! 😄

For alcoholic beverages, they boast a fantastic lineup across various price points, including **red wine, white wine, whiskey, sake, traditional Korean liquor, soju, and beer**,
making it easy to pick up the perfect drink for your 'hocance'!
Plus, they have a diverse selection of snacks like dried filefish and jerky to pair with your drinks, and since they're open until 11 PM, you have plenty of time to shop!

Compared to E-Mart Gongdeok, which typically sells in multi-packs,
Lotte Super Gongdeok was so convenient because you could buy **ice cream individually**!
They have a wide range of ice creams too, like Bead Ice Cream, Häagen-Dazs, and Together~~
And it was super convenient that they operate **both self-checkout and manned checkout counters**.
If You're Staying in Gongdeok on Your Seoul Trip, Definitely Check It Out!

While Lotte Super Gongdeok, which just underwent renovation, used to have a more premium vibe,
now it feels more like a **compact hypermarket where you can easily find practical and great value items**!
From fruits and fresh ingredients to to-go meals, banchan (side dishes), alcoholic beverages, and even ice cream,
there are so many **items sold individually or in suitable sizes**, making it incredibly convenient for anyone on a **'hocance' near Gongdeok Station** to grab food to enjoy in their room,
simple side dishes, late-night snacks, beverages like beer or wine, and even ice cream or desserts!!! It's truly a one-stop shop for all your travel cravings!

I've actually stayed at the Lotte City Hotel Mapo in the same building twice before,
and it's a fantastic value-for-money hotel, perfect for a relaxing hotel staycation.
