Lotte City Hotel Mapo! A fantastic location in front of Seoul's Mapo Gyeongui Line Forest Park, offering excellent value for money!

It's directly connected to Gongdeok Station, making it a popular choice for those exploring downtown Seoul or enjoying a "hocance" (hotel vacation).

This hotel is perfect for anyone who values **easy access to Gongdeok Station, spotless rooms, and practical amenities.**

I'd stayed here once before, and this time I **revisited, staying in a Standard Double Room**.

This time, I'm leaving a more detailed and honest review covering everything from the lobby, rooms, parking, and self-luggage storage to the facilities and some insider tips!

Lotte City Hotel Mapo Location ｜Directly Connected to Gongdeok Station Exit 2, Walking Distance to Gyeongui Line Forest Park

The absolute biggest reason to choose Lotte City Hotel Mapo is its incredible **location**!

**Gongdeok Station Exit 2**, where the **Airport Railroad, Subway Line 5, Line 6, and Gyeongui-Jungang Line all converge**, is **directly connected to an internal hotel passage**. This means you can easily walk straight into the hotel with your luggage, no matter the weather outside!

It's less than a 10-minute drive to Yeouido and Seoul Station, and just a 15-minute subway ride to vibrant areas like Hongdae, Sinchon, and Myeongdong. This makes it an incredibly convenient base for exploring any part of Seoul. Plus, with direct access via the Airport Railroad from Incheon Airport, it's an ideal stay for international travelers!

The front desk is located on the 2nd floor.

You can reach it by taking an elevator through the underground shopping arcade, which is conveniently connected to Gongdeok Station Exit 2.

Various restaurants, cafes, hair salons, and traditional Korean medicine clinics are all operating as usual.

**Even better, the Lotte Super Gongdeok branch on Basement 1 recently reopened after a fantastic renovation!**

It was incredibly convenient for grabbing snacks, drinks, and simple meals to enjoy in your room during a "hocance," so I made sure to check it out myself this time!

Lobby: Self-Service Luggage Storage and Beyond!

On the front desk floor, you'll find handy spots like ✅️ a pharmacy, 7-Eleven, Lotte Rent-a-Car, and more.

These convenient facilities are all right here to make your Seoul trip a breeze!

Check-in: 3 PM, Check-out: 11 AM

You'll also find plenty of self check-in/check-out kiosks, making arrivals and departures super smooth.

Available in English, Japanese, and Chinese!

While you can also check in directly at the check-in counter, I ended up processing mine with a staff member due to a kiosk glitch.

As I noticed during my previous stay, all the staff here are so friendly and professional – truly a pleasure!

For your reference, Lotte City Hotel Mapo's exclusive parking lot is located on B3 and B4,

and can be used free of charge for up to 2 vehicles per room.

✅️7-Eleven and C’cafe (the breakfast restaurant) are conveniently located near the front desk,

making it a great setup for grabbing snacks on the go!

For international guests, there's also a ✅️currency exchange machine.

Self-Service Luggage Storage

True to Lotte City Hotel Mapo's reputation as a popular spot for travelers,

they've added a self-service luggage storage area, a new feature since my last visit!

Simply use the self-service luggage storage area next to the front desk,

and there's even a weighing machine, which is incredibly handy for international travelers!

It's a simple and convenient system: just set a password and secure your luggage with the provided cable.

Instructions are available in various languages, and it's free to use for all guests!

There's also plenty of storage space, so no need to worry about it being full.

We even used it ourselves after checking out, and it was so simple and great.

Swimming pool, fitness center, coin laundry, breakfast restaurant, and more.

The swimming pool is paid (approximately ~$15 for adults, ~$7 for children), but if you book with the ✅️pool-inclusive option when making your reservation,

It's such a thoughtful detail, easy to glance at and understand,

and I love hotels that provide facility guides right on the card key cover like this.

And now that I think about it, check-out is at 11 AM, but they actually gave me an extra hour! Haha.

The hallway has that subtle, signature hotel scent unique to Lotte properties!

I was assigned room 607.

As you can tell from the building's exterior,

the hallways are wide and winding, shaped like two large interconnected circles.

There's a slight price difference between a city view and a view of the opposite building,

and since I'm a local, I simply opted for the building view.

Standard Double Room Condition

It was practical and spotless in many ways during my last stay,

so let's step inside and see how it is this time!

A pleasant aroma subtly fills the room too! Haha.

I'm not usually a big fan of carpets,

but this one was perfectly fine thanks to its excellent maintenance, with no dust to be felt!

The bed, bathed in cozy lighting, also had comfortable bedding.

On one of the bedside tables, you'll find an outlet,

and on the other, master lighting controls, plus the sleep lamp was quite useful.

An eco-friendly hotel.

The television is an LG TV, offering plenty of basic channels,

✅️ and you can also use OTT services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, and Rakuten TV!

The DND button and air conditioner controls are next to the closet,

and the air conditioning is quite powerful!

Inside the cabinet space, you'll find a bathrobe, safe, hangers, and more.

A great desk space for getting some work done.

While it shows a few signs of age, it's impeccably maintained.

✅️ Geisha blend coffee and Jaksul tea bags are provided.

The disposable paper cups were also handy for enjoying takeout.

Inside the fridge, ✅️ you'll find two bottles of complimentary water.

The refrigerator isn't huge, but it's clean and keeps things wonderfully cool.

Lotte City Hotel Mapo offers a microwave and ice water dispenser on every floor, which you can make great use of,

and ✅️ an ice bucket and coffee machine are provided in the drawer.

By the window, there's a single-person sofa and a mini table,

perfect for relaxing with a footrest if you're alone,

or great for sharing takeout meals.

This room was about this distance from the building across the street.

It felt a bit more open than the last room, which was a definite plus! 😉

With essential features like a comfortable bed, a dedicated workspace, a cozy sofa, and a well-appointed bathroom, it was incredibly practical and offered great value for the price.​

While it might not have the luxurious feel of a 5-star hotel, it's the perfect fit for travelers seeking a clean, comfortable, and convenient Seoul city center hotel for a relaxing stay!

Bathroom and Amenities

Surprisingly spacious bathroom for the room size!

The separate bathtub and shower areas make it feel so much more comfortable and refreshing.

When I first saw the transparent sink in the hotel photos, I admit I thought it might look a bit tacky,

but in person, it's so immaculately maintained that the initial impression completely disappears!

Lotte City Hotel ✅️ thoughtfully provides both **hand wash and body lotion**, and guess what?

It was that wonderful scent I'd noticed in the hallways and my room!

The hairdryer was a Tefal, and it worked like a charm – super efficient!

Extra towels were neatly folded and ready,

and even the dental cups were convenient paper ones.

When it comes to amenities, they provided a shower cap and a comb,

✅️ **Remember to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste, or you can easily grab them at the Seven Eleven nearby**!

A wonderfully spacious shower and separate bathtub area!

You know how sometimes hotels, even fancy ones like Signiel Busan, only have a bathtub, and showering in it can be a bit awkward?

Well, here, they've got a dedicated shower stall with a separate shower hose, which makes things incredibly convenient and comfortable!

The bathtub was spotlessly clean and exceptionally well-maintained.

✅️ And yes, **body wash, shampoo, and conditioner** are all included as standard Lotte City Hotel amenities – no need to pack those!

Shower towels are also thoughtfully provided, by the way,

✅️And the best part? You get both a standard showerhead and a luxurious rain showerhead – talk about options!

A bidet is also installed! Fantastic!

Final Thoughts

Even though this hotel first opened its doors back in 2009, you wouldn't guess it! The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a pleasant scent, and its pristine condition makes it feel much newer, thanks to excellent maintenance.

Lotte City Hotel Mapo was still an incredibly satisfying stay for me!

As a business hotel, it naturally prioritizes cleanliness and practicality over lavish extravagance,

but in terms of maintenance and service, it definitely passed with flying colors!

The absolute biggest advantage, in my opinion, is that the **hotel is directly connected to Gongdeok Station's Exit 2**!

This makes it a powerhouse recommendation for anyone exploring Seoul's city center or needing convenient access to Incheon International Airport!
