Langt Yeonnam Hongdae Review 2026: Unique East-West Fusion Dining
Join us for a delightful weekend brunch at Langt Yeonnam, a stylish Hongdae eatery. Discover unique East-meets-West fusion cuisine, from creative pasta to tender sous-vide pork belly.

Meeting a friend for weekend brunch in Yeonnam-dong, we decided to visit Langt Yeonnam, a spot I'd heard offered a fantastic ambiance and unique dishes. We made a reservation, which I highly recommend!
This review covers our delicious experience, from their distinctive pasta to the tender sous-vide pork belly!
📍 Langt Yeonnam
22-30 Yanghwa-ro 19-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, 1.5F
Langt Yeonnam is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Hongik University Station Exit 3.
It's right in front of 'Yeontral Park' (Yeonnam-dong Gyeongui Line Forest Park), making it super easy to find and access.
Please note that there's no dedicated parking, so you'll need to use nearby paid parking lots.

The name Langt (랑트) is actually a clever combination of the French word 'Deferlant' (meaning 'breaking wave') and the Korean character 'Lang' (浪), also meaning 'wave'.
This symbolizes their culinary philosophy: creating new 'waves' of flavor by creatively blending Eastern and Western ingredients!

Langt Yeonnam is housed on the second floor of a beautifully renovated standalone house, perfectly capturing the charming Yeonnam-dong vibe.

The restaurant features expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, letting in abundant natural light and creating a truly inviting atmosphere.
The interior is also filled with lush green plants, giving it a wonderfully refreshing, almost tropical feel, reminiscent of places like Singapore or Bangkok!

We visited around noon on a weekend, and almost every table was taken. If we hadn't made a reservation, we definitely would have had to wait.
For weekend brunch, I highly recommend making a reservation!

Corkage is also available, with a fee of ~$15 per bottle!
Langt Yeonnam Menu Recommendations

True to its name, Langt Yeonnam offers a variety of distinctive dishes that pursue unique combinations of Eastern and Western ingredients.
The menu is divided into two categories: small dishes, perfect for pairing with wine, and main dishes for a full meal.
Since we were just having a meal without wine, we decided to try the Sous-vide Pork Belly Steak and the Chadol Melchobi Cream Pasta from the main dishes.

Right from the start, the side dishes were a pleasant surprise, unlike what you'd typically find at a pasta restaurant. We were served white kimchi topped with red chili!
It had a refreshing, slightly vinegary dressing, almost like a crisp salad – a perfect palate cleanser!

The presentation of our main dishes was also quite striking, wouldn't you agree?
They were generously adorned with a colorful array of green vegetables, so even without ordering a separate salad, we felt we got plenty of greens!

First up, the Chadol Melchobi Pasta.
Imagine char-grilled brisket infused with smoky flavor, combined with a rich, umami-packed 'meljeot' (fermented anchovy sauce) cream, all balanced with crisp bok choy and scallions – quite a unique blend!
While it might sound unexpected, the meljeot cream was surprisingly delicious. It definitely leans towards the salty side, which I personally enjoyed. If you're someone who loves bold, savory flavors, perhaps like dipping Korean BBQ into a rich 'meljeot' sauce, you'll absolutely love this!

The Sous-vide Pork Belly Steak, a dish that could be ordinary, felt incredibly fresh and new here!
It featured incredibly tender sous-vide pork belly, a bright yuzu-doenjang (fermented soybean paste) sauce, and crispy 'bangpungnamul' (sea hogweed) that resembled savory seaweed crackers!
The crunchy texture of the 'bangpungnamul' as a steak garnish was fantastic, almost like a veggie chip. The refreshing yuzu notes in the doenjang sauce perfectly complemented the melt-in-your-mouth pork belly.
This ability to creatively mix and match diverse ingredients truly seems to be the core charm of Langt Yeonnam.

The restroom facilities inside were also clean and convenient to use.
Overall, Langt Yeonnam is a place where you can savor delicious and unique dishes while feeling like you've been transported to a lush, tropical getaway thanks to its green, resort-like interior!
While we came for brunch, I think it would be absolutely perfect for a first date or a lovely evening out with wine!
I highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious and distinctive pasta in Yeonnam-dong!
