Hello everyone! This is Shear Day!
Since it was my first time visiting Daejeon,
I spent quite some time figuring out
where to stay.
After a thorough search, I chose Kyoto Origin, which is
quite close to Daejeon Station.
Its location is also fantastic for visiting
Seongsimdang Main Branch, Jungang Market, and Hanwha Life Eagles Park,
making it perfect for travelers exploring on foot.
It's great for couples, but with separate rooms,
it's also spacious enough for a family of 3 or even 4.
This is a brand-new accommodation,
opened only about a month ago,
and I managed to book it at an incredible price, around ~$51!!

I made my reservation through Agoda.
After comparing prices with Naver,
I found that applying a coupon on Agoda gave me
extra discounts, making it a much better deal!
The atmosphere of the accommodation perfectly lived up to its name,
evoking a distinct Kyoto vibe.
With its warm wooden tones, soothing lighting,
and clean rooms, it was an ideal spot
to relax and recharge for a day in Daejeon.
This is an honest review based on my own money and experience!

1. Location & Parking
Kyoto Origin is located at
16 Daeheung-ro 206beon-gil, Dong-gu, Daejeon.
It’s approximately 670m from Daejeon Station Exit 1,
making it an excellent choice for those looking for accommodation near Daejeon Station.
When traveling in Daejeon,
the accommodation's location turns out to be more important than you might think.
If you plan to buy bread at Seongsimdang,
visit Jungang Market or the Old Downtown area, and then
drop off your luggage before heading out again,
choosing a place too far out would be inconvenient.
Kyoto Origin is ideally located for
combining visits to Seongsimdang Main Branch, Jungang Market, and Jeongdong Munhwasa,
making it perfect for those on a 'bread pilgrimage' itinerary.
For those with plans to visit Hanwha Life Eagles Park,
staying near Daejeon Station makes planning your travel a bit easier.
It's a 1.7km walk from the accommodation to Hanwha Life Eagles Park,
taking about 25 minutes,
It's just an 8-minute drive away.
The building is designed so you can use the pilotis area on the first floor for parking.
2. Room 201: Our Cozy Abode
Kyoto Origin really felt less like a standard hotel
and more like a charming, '감성 스테이' (aesthetic stay) kind of vibe.
The overall tone of the room was
calm and invitingly warm.
There was a queen-size bed in both the living room and the separate bedroom.
While we booked for just two,
it's spacious enough for a family of three or four to comfortably share.
The kitchen came fully equipped with an induction cooktop, a microwave, and various cooking utensils,
making it possible to whip up simple meals.
The tableware was all so charming and pretty,
and generously provided, which I thought was a really thoughtful touch!
The refrigerator wasn't tiny like those often found in standard hotels;
it had separate freezer and fridge sections,
and was quite a generous size! Haha.
We didn't opt for a room with a jacuzzi, so there was no bathtub,
but as it's a brand-new accommodation that only recently opened its doors,
the bathroom was absolutely spotless, not a single water stain in sight!
Even though we booked for two people,
they generously provided us with 8 towels! 😂👍
There was also a lovely little spot within the room where we could enjoy a cup of tea,
which was a delightful touch :)

The movable TV was particularly useful and great,
and there was also a spacious wardrobe with hangers.
What I found particularly thoughtful from the owner
was the guidebook provided in the room!
From nearby convenience stores to local eateries and cafes, etc.,
everything was described in such detail, which was incredibly helpful.
We actually picked one of the restaurants introduced in the guidebook,
a place called 'Haenyeo and Fisherman',
and brought back a bunch of things to enjoy as a late-night snack.
The prices were affordable, and the food was delicious,
so I highly recommend it! Haha!
3. My Honest Review of Kyoto Origin
Opened just about a month ago in July 2026,
it's a brand-new accommodation, so it was incredibly clean throughout.
Its location was fantastic, being close to Daejeon Station, Sungsimdang Main Branch, Jungang Market, and Daejeon Hanwha Ballpark.
The 24-hour self-check-in was also incredibly convenient,
and a place to store luggage.
What was truly useful was the availability of a large refrigerator
equipped to store bread and cakes!
When you visit Sungsimdang during your Daejeon trip,
you know how storing bread or cakes can subtly become a bit of a hassle.
If you're not going to eat them right away,
it's awkward to carry them around all day.
Having a storage space at the accommodation in such cases
made our movements so much more convenient!
We could visit Sungsimdang, drop off our purchases at the accommodation,
and then freely head to the old downtown area or the baseball stadium.
Kyoto Origin wasn't just great for its location, but also

I was happy with both!
Even though I visited during the peak season at the end of July,
I managed to book it for around ~$51 through an Agoda special deal,
making the value for money absolutely amazing!
