Our family trip to Jeju Island for our child's second birthday!
This trip started when our child was 23 months old and we returned when they turned 24 months old.
We especially got to use the Gimpo Airport Priority Security Lane service for passengers with reduced mobility one last time, a perk only available for children under 24 months. Of course, on the way back, since our little one was over 24 months, that perk was gone, haha!
Here, I'll share our experience flying on Korean Air Prestige Class (KE1125/ A321-neo) and using the Gimpo Airport Lounge, which made our trip with our nearly two-year-old even more comfortable.

It had been a while since I'd been to the Gimpo Airport domestic counter, and even on a weekday, the line was incredibly long. When traveling with a child, you really want to avoid waiting, so thanks to the dedicated check-in counter for Prestige Class passengers, we were able to complete check-in without any delay.
| 💡 Essential Tip for Stroller Users: Door-to-Door Service What if your child doesn't want to get out of the stroller? It's best to request 'door-to-door' service, where you keep them in the stroller until just before security check, then check the stroller right before boarding the plane (at the gate). You can walk around comfortably with just a baggage tag attached to the stroller, and upon arrival in Jeju, the stroller was conveniently the first item to appear at baggage claim, wrapped in clean plastic. |
Since we were traveling with a child under 24 months, we received a 'passenger with reduced mobility' sticker and quickly passed through the priority security lane. Instead of the crowded waiting area in front of the gate, we headed to the exclusive Korean Air Prestige Lounge.
Perhaps thanks to the quiet and pleasant environment, our 23-month-old, Wookka-gun, comfortably fell asleep in the stroller. This allowed my partner and me to enjoy a relaxing time with our drinks.
Various Drinks & Simple Snacks
There's a coffee machine, instant coffee, and a variety of other beverages, along with juices and simple cookies for children.
Amenities
Instead of crowded public restrooms, we could use the clean restrooms and nursing room inside the lounge, which made diaper changes much easier.
Finally boarding! Our originally booked flight, KE1117 (B737-900), was delayed by about 40 minutes and changed to KE1125 (A321-neo). As it turned out, it was actually for the better! 😊
Even for a short flight, the bed-like seats that recline 180 degrees were incredibly comfortable, and our baby loved them!
Not only was there an armrest wireless charger, but also a 45W charging outlet,
allowing us to seamlessly play media devices for Ukka-gun, and at the same time, it was perfect for charging our phones.
Even with an active baby,
the seat pitch in Prestige Class is so generous
that we didn't have to worry about passengers in front or behind.
(Since it's a 2-2 configuration with only 2 rows, there technically isn't anyone directly in front or behind us lol)
Even sitting together in one seat, it wasn't uncomfortable.
There was also a good selection of content for children,
but our 23-month-old, a true 'car-lover' (ppabang-lover),
watched videos we had pre-downloaded.
The storage space was also ample, so except during takeoff and landing,
we could comfortably place our media devices and watch them like this.
During takeoff and landing, ears can get blocked,
which can make children uncomfortable.
However, we came prepared with
water in a straw cup, his favorite soy milk, snacks, and more,
along with our tablet loaded with tons of offline videos.
With all these preparations, we were able to complete the flight without a hitch!

After getting off the plane, the benefits of Business Class shone brightly until the very end, especially when collecting our luggage.
Thanks to the priority baggage tag,
as soon as the carousel started moving,
our stroller and suitcase were the very first to appear!
This meant we could quickly get our 23-month-old into the stroller,
and zip through the busy airport in no time.
We were so quick that this is the only photo we managed to snap at the airport, lol!
Even for a short 1-hour flight,
when you're traveling with a child, that perceived time can feel many times longer.
Especially if you're traveling with a child under 24 months,
whose airfare is waived,
we highly recommend trying Korean Air Prestige Class (Business Class) at least once!

We kept the baby in the stroller until just before security screening, then checked the stroller at the gate just before boarding the flight. Upon arrival in Jeju, the stroller, neatly wrapped in plastic, was the first item to appear at baggage claim, which was very convenient.
The 180-degree lie-flat bed seats provided great comfort. In addition to a wireless charger in the armrest, there was a 45W charging outlet, making it easy to charge media devices.
Thanks to the Priority Tag on our luggage, the stroller and suitcase were the first items to appear on the carousel as it started moving. This allowed us to quickly exit the crowded airport with our 23-month-old baby in the stroller.
