Kimstel Korea Jongno Review: Best Budget Seoul Stay

A sudden family event popped up,

so my husband and I had to make a last-minute trip to Seoul.

We had to find a place on the very same day, and after some intensive,

high-speed searching, we chose

'Kimstel Korea Jongno'

Here is my honest, 100% unsponsored review of our 3-day, 2-night stay!

We stayed from Thursday to Saturday,

and from the location and value for money to the shared service spaces,

both my husband and I were absolutely thrilled with our stay.

📍 Location & Self Check-in Tips!

121 Myo-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul

Since it's a brand-new property that just opened in 2026,

Kimstel Jongno is incredibly clean and modern!

True to its name, it's located right in the heart of Jongno.

It's just a 5-minute walk from Exit 7 of Jongno 3-ga Station,

so the accessibility is absolutely unbeatable.

We arrived around 8 PM on Thursday,

but thanks to the self check-in system,

we could check in late without any hassle or pressure.

The building has 5 floors in total, with guest rooms on floors 2 to 5,

and the 1st floor was busy preparing for a Starbucks opening!

Next time we visit, we'll literally have a Starbucks right under our feet.

💡 Must-Check Before You Arrive!

You must contact the host in advance

to get the passcode for the main automatic door

before you check in!

I didn't know this, so when we arrived,

we wandered around outside for a while...🤣

It's a funny-yet-sad story, but we ended up slipping in behind other guests

and then quickly messaging the host inside! ^^...

Make sure you get that passcode beforehand so you don't repeat our mistake!

🛏️ Double Room Condition

& Amenities

We stayed in the Double Room,

and it was perfectly cozy and just the right size

for the two of us.

Since it's a brand-new hotel, the bedding and the overall room condition

were incredibly clean and neat,

making our entire stay so comfortable!

(According to their website, they also offer twin rooms,

triple rooms, and single rooms!)

✅ Bathroom

It's a compact layout where the shower, sink, and toilet are all in one space.

It felt a bit tight at first, but we got used to it in no time!

✅ Amenities

There were plenty of towels to last our 3-day, 2-night stay,

and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are a given!

They even generously provide toothbrushes, soap, and shower towels,

so you could literally show up empty-handed and be totally fine.

✅ Room Essentials

Two bottles of cold water, a hairdryer, extra power outlets,

and even a multi-adapter are all ready for you!

Personally, I remember struggling on a trip to Japan

because I only brought one single travel adapter plug.

So, finding a multi-adapter already provided in the room

was an absolute lifesaver and incredibly thoughtful! 👍

For international travelers visiting Korea,

you won't have to worry even if you forget to pack one!

While staying here, I noticed so many

international tourists around!

Aside from its unbeatable location close to all the main Jongno sights,

I bet these amazing free amenities are the real reason everyone loves this place.

✅ Free Breakfast & Snacks

A coffee machine, water purifier, instant mix coffee, tea,

Corn Frosties cereal, and snacks are fully stocked.

(I saw traditional glutinous rice crackers and Choco Pies in the evening,

but they were completely wiped out by morning! lol)

There's also a microwave available,

so if you're planning a long-term stay, just grab some milk

and your breakfast is 100% sorted!

✅ Han River Ramen Machine (5 Stars!)

They actually offer a wide variety of Korean ramen for FREE!

This is bound to be a huge hit for foreign friends

who want to experience that authentic K-ramen vibe...

Cooking and eating ramen late at night was pure bliss! 👍

✅ Convenience Facilities

A steam iron and two washing machines

(complete with free laundry detergent)!

Normally, hotels would charge you extra for these services,

so seeing it all offered for free completely blew my mind.

It's absolutely the perfect environment

for long-term travelers and globetrotters!

🧳 Luggage Storage Tips

& Nearby Attractions

✅ How to Use the 5th Floor Luggage Storage

The luggage storage uses a padlock system.

Each padlock is labeled with an alphabet letter,

and each letter has a completely different passcode!

If you plan to store your bags, make sure to

ask your host for the padlock passcode in advance!

We left our suitcases here

and headed out for a worry-free tour of the Changdeokgung Palace Secret Garden.

Insadong, Ssamzigil, Jongno, Euljiro, Changdeokgung,

and Anguk are all within walking distance,

and with the subway station just 5 minutes away, heading over to Jamsil

was incredibly easy and convenient!

There are countless amazing restaurants nearby, and with a grocery store

right next to the accommodation, the location is absolutely unbeatable!

Since I visited during the off-season,

even with my stay including the weekend,

it was only around ~$51 a night!

Considering this prime location, the room condition, free ramen,

and even the laundry service,

I can't help but feel the value for money is absolutely insane!

Because this place is so popular and offers such incredible value,

it books up super fast

during peak seasons and weekends! 😭
