Jojomrye Nammun Pisundae offers 1 hour of free parking when you use either the Nambu Market Parking Lot or the Cheonbyeon Parking Lot.
However, the Nambu Parking Lot looked like this.
It wasn't particularly large, and since it was a holiday lunchtime, it was already completely full.
There were hardly any cars leaving, so waiting seemed pointless.
So, I headed to the nearby Cheonbyeon Parking Lot, which was much more spacious and pleasant.
Depending on where you park, it can even be closer to Jojomrye Nammun Pisundae.
I highly recommend just going straight to the Cheonbyeon Parking Lot for convenience.
You can register your parking at the counter when you pay your bill.
As indicated on the wall near the light switch, they offer free support for the Nambu Parking Lot, Cheonbyeon Parking Lot, and Pungnammun Market Customer Parking Lot.
2. Jojomrye Nammun Pisundae: Exterior & Interior at Jeonju Nambu Market
Jojomrye Nammun Pisundae isn't a standalone restaurant; it's an integral part of the vibrant Nambu Market.
Can you see the prestige of its 9 Blue Ribbons? (For those unfamiliar, the Blue Ribbon Survey is a respected Korean restaurant guide, similar to a local Michelin guide, recognizing top eateries).
When I was getting recommendations for my Jeonju trip, this place was suggested by at least three different people, so I went without hesitation!
It was around 12:30 PM, and about half the tables were occupied.
There's plenty of seating inside, so unless it's an exceptionally busy time, you likely won't have to wait long.
Having been famous for ages, Jojomrye Nammun Pisundae has been featured on various television programs over the years.
3. Jojomrye Nammun Pisundae Menu & Prices
Each table has an order sheet, so you can easily choose your dishes from there.
My husband and I ordered two regular *sundae-gukbap*.
The default is spicy, but you can always request a mild version.
We didn't eat too much because we were heading to a festival afterward, but next time, I'm definitely ordering a small plate of *pisundae* to enjoy with some *makgeolli* (traditional Korean rice wine)! ❣️
4. My Review of Jojomrye Nammun Pisundae, Jeonju
The basic side dishes include chives, two types of kimchi, fresh chili peppers, raw garlic, *ssamjang* (spicy dipping sauce), and salted shrimp paste.
There's also a self-service bar where you can refill any side dishes you need.
Of course, *sundae-gukbap* is best with plenty of chives, so I grabbed a generous amount right away! ><
While I was getting the side dishes, our K-fast food, *sundae-gukbap*, arrived incredibly quickly!
I ordered the standard spicy version, and my husband chose the mild one.
You can definitely tell the difference; his soup across the table looks noticeably milder, right?
It arrived bubbling hot, looking absolutely delicious.
If you look at the image on the right, you can see just how many ingredients are packed in there!
Sometimes, if you go to the wrong *sundae-gukbap* place, those ingredients can have a gamey smell, but at Jojomrye Nammun Pisundae, there was absolutely no odor whatsoever. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and clean.
The spicy version wasn't overwhelmingly hot; it had a subtle, invigorating kick that was just perfect to eat.
Even the mild version had a rich and deeply flavorful broth, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed.
But the real star was this *pisundae* (blood sausage) itself! It was truly exceptional.
That's why next time, I plan to order a plate of *pisundae* separately, it's that good! 😉
