I had been craving figs, absolutely dreaming of them, when my sister found this incredible spot for fig desserts in Jeonju Gaeksa!
Honestly, if I'm being direct, I can't believe I didn't know about this place sooner. It was a completely satisfying experience at Anemochore Cafe, and I'm excited to share my review with you.

Anemochore's Ambiance

I can't believe I walked past this place on the main road so many times without noticing it. I'm making a promise to myself: I'll be back every season!

Anemochore Cafe truly exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere.

That stained glass mirror is just adorable! And the Sylvanian Families figure riding a whale... could it be welcoming Miranda from Ulsan, the city of whales? My sister's figure definitely seems bigger!

Why You Must Visit on Friday or Saturday

Their four types of financiers are incredibly affordable, a true steal! It's been a while since I've seen prices this reasonable.
While it would have been even more spectacular to arrive when the showcase was fully stocked, my patience simply couldn't wait.

Even the drink prices for coffee, non-coffee options, and teas are very budget-friendly. And here's the best part: Anemochore has special cakes available only on Fridays and Saturdays!

On my visit, you could find both a Fig Cake and a refreshing Summer Pavlova. If it weren't for my aversion to bananas, I would have ordered both! Browsing their past dessert lineups, which included cherry blossom mochi, verrines, tarts, cakes, and parfaits, made me so sad thinking about all the delicious treats I'd missed out on... (From now on, I'll be like Kim Hee-ae in front of all desserts – utterly smitten!)

Anemochore Cafe Menu Review

I ordered the Pineapple Jasmine, the essential Iced Americano to pair with any dessert, and, of course, the star of the show: the Fig dessert.
It's funny, I grew up with a fig tree in our yard, and back then, I barely gave them a second glance, even when the whole neighborhood was enjoying the most luscious figs. Now, seeing how much fresh figs cost, I truly appreciate them as a luxury!

This perfect dessert featured an almond dacquoise base, cinnamon ganache montée cream, wine-infused fig compote, fresh figs, and was topped with a delicate cinnamon sablé cookie. It was pure bliss! I wasn't sure how to cut it elegantly, but I managed to slice it in half with surprising ease.

I devoured it in big bites, and the coffee almost became an afterthought! But the Pineapple Jasmine was wonderfully refreshing, and the Iced Americano was perfectly smooth and nutty.

As I was leaving, I noticed they also had freshly prepared Portuguese-style egg tarts! You can even make reservations for them through Naver (a local booking platform).

This cafe has officially earned a spot on my 'must-revisit' list!
Anemoco operates from 8 AM to 6 PM from Tuesday to Friday, and from 11 AM to 8 PM on Saturdays. It is closed every Sunday and Monday.
On Fridays and Saturdays, you can find four types of financiers and two "Friday & Saturday Cakes": a fig cake and a summer pavlova. It's mentioned that both the financiers and drinks are very reasonably priced.
Anemoco does not have its own parking space. Visitors are encouraged to use nearby free public parking lots.
This dessert consists of almond dacquoise, cinnamon ganache montée cream, wine fig compote, fresh figs, and cinnamon sable. It was evaluated as a perfect combination.
