Famous coastal cafes might offer beautiful views, but sometimes, when you actually visit, they're so crowded that you leave feeling more drained than refreshed.
I've been so busy lately that I hadn't been able to get out properly,
so I headed to Gyorae-ri, craving a quiet place to breathe and enjoy the trees.
Among the many large cafes in eastern Jeju,
Jeju Yeonwoo Cafe in Gyorae-ri is a spot I'd visited before,
but going back this time, I discovered new charms.

Its location aligns perfectly with popular Jeju tourist spots like Saryeoni Forest Path, Samdasu Forest Path, and Eco Land,
making it an easy and convenient stop during your trip.
The cafe's exterior, a striking red brick building, is easy to spot.
Step inside, and you'll be enveloped
in a distinct antique ambiance,
thanks to the vintage furniture and lighting.
On my previous visit,
I thought it was just a spacious first floor,
but this time, I discovered there's also a second floor!
I quickly headed up to find a spot.
From the second-floor window, the lush green forest view,
characteristic of Jeju's mid-mountain region, unfolds.
Just sitting there and taking in the scenery felt incredibly healing.
On my earlier visit, it was a cloudy day,
and I gazed out at a garden filled with mist.
This time, the atmosphere was completely different, which was truly memorable.
While there are several other large cafes
near Saryeoni Forest Path,
this one truly stood out with its spacious and comfortable environment,
exuding a distinct sense of tranquility.
Jeju Yeonwoo Cafe also boasts a quite diverse menu.
After some deliberation, I ordered a warm chocolate latte
and a Jeju matcha cream latte.
To accompany our drinks, we also added a raspberry scone
and a salt bread.
The scone was wonderfully fluffy and absolutely delicious.
The sweetness was just right, not overpowering at all.
While the sweet drinks I ordered were delightful,
I think the balance would have been even better with a slightly bitter Americano.
Nevertheless, the bread itself was truly tasty!
Perhaps because Jeju Yeonwoo Cafe is also known as a popular brunch spot in Jeju,
they offer a wide variety of meal options,
such as sandwiches and 'one-meal pizza bread'.
It seems like an excellent choice for those looking for a light brunch
or a more substantial meal.
In one corner of Yeonwoo Cafe, you'll also discover a delightful Jeju souvenir corner.
It was a charming diversion to browse the adorable little items,
like handkerchiefs adorned with camellia or tangerine designs.
Beyond the main building I visited, I heard there's a separate private room that can accommodate 10 or more people.
This means that even if you're exploring with a larger group,
you won't have to worry about finding a spot!
Oh, and for all you pet parents out there, Yeonwoo Cafe is pet-friendly!
Just remember that a carrier bag is essential for your furry friend,
so keep that in mind when planning your visit.
While there are many wonderful large cafes in eastern Jeju,
and your choice might vary depending on your taste,
if you're looking to escape the bustling crowds and find a moment of peace,
a tranquil spot where you can quietly catch your breath,
then I highly recommend Jeju Yeonwoo Cafe.
