Just a 30-minute drive by rental car from downtown Jeju
Located close to the Hallasan Mountain Trail,
the way it blends seamlessly with nature
is what makes Jeju Stone Park so incredibly charming.
This park is a masterpiece that compiles Jeju's unique stone culture,
spanning across a massive 1 million pyeong (around 817 acres).
Opened on June 3, 2006,
about 70% of the park is set within a "Gotjawal" forest—
a unique forest ecosystem where rocks, trees, and vines intertwine.

Right from the entrance, the black basalt and volcanic stones
gathered together made me feel like I had stepped into another world.
The crisp, refreshing air and warm sunlight
reveal a whole different side of Jeju.
The unique rock formations and wild wooden vines
were absolutely fascinating.
Since some of the paths are unpaved,
wearing a good pair of sneakers is highly recommended!
As I kept walking, I reached the museum.
I almost skipped it, wondering if it would actually be interesting,
but I decided to give it a chance—
and it was way more fun than I expected!
It's a fantastic, well-curated space that makes you want to linger.
Watching the exhibition videos narrated in the local Jeju dialect
felt so warm and welcoming, and I completely lost track of time.
There is a stunning, eye-catching video playing
that immediately grabs your attention.
At the Stone Park,
you can learn all about the formation of Jeju Island,
its volcanic activity,
and admire over 400 different types of Jeju volcanic stones.
Fascinating records of Jeju's unique mythology are also on display,
and learning the story behind
Jeju's iconic stone walls was incredibly interesting.
There's also an exhibit on Manjanggul Cave,
which was a bit of a challenging walk in real life!

Every time I visit Udo, I’m always amazed
by the brilliant white beaches.
It turns out this Rhodolith Beach (Hongjodangoe) is actually designated as a Natural Monument!
Did you know that Jeju's beach sand contains magnetic iron particles?
They stick right to a magnet and move along with it—
it is absolutely mind-blowing to watch!
As you step outside the museum and follow the path,
friendly Dolhareubang (stone grandfathers) welcome you!
Beautiful stone folk artifacts are on display everywhere,
Modeled after a traditional Jeju village,
it features authentic structures like three-wing houses, two-wing houses, and horse-drawn mills.
It's a wonderful walking trail that gives you a glimpse into the daily lives of ancient islanders.
Fun fact: the K-drama "Thank You for Your Hard Work" (Poksak Sogatsuda)
was actually filmed right here in this traditional thatched village!
Look, they even have a traditional kitchen furnace (Agungi)!
The view is absolutely stunning, even from a distance.
I love how you can truly soak in Jeju's unique, peaceful atmosphere here.
And here is the famous Sky Pond
It's super famous as a spot to snap your shot of a lifetime!
You put on rain boots to walk in, and even though
it isn't deep,
there's this tiny thrill of worrying you might fall in!
Although it's an artificial pond,
it truly feels like you're walking on the ocean.
It was such a unique experience!
I bet it would be even more stunning on a clear day.
It was a bit cloudy on this day, so the photos don't fully do it justice.
After changing back into my shoes,
I also took a quick photo at the entrance!
The Sky Pond was a mysterious and joyful place to visit,
offering a completely different side of Jeju
from the one we usually know.
Showing off a different vibe with each changing season,
the Stone Park is truly
a unique and healing destination.
I highly recommend adding it to your Jeju travel itinerary!

Operating hours are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and it is closed every Monday. The admission fee is ~$3 for adults and ~$2 for youths (ages 13 to 24) and military/police personnel. Children 12 and under can enter for free.
Modeled after an old Jeju village, it features traditional three-building and two-building houses, as well as a horse-driven mill, allowing visitors to glimpse into the lives of people from the past. Traditional facilities like agungi (traditional fireplaces) are also placed throughout, so you can feel the unique atmosphere of Jeju.
You put on the rain boots provided on-site and walk directly into the shallow artificial pond to take pictures. It gives you a unique feeling, as if you are walking on the sea, making it a popular spot for taking the photo of a lifetime.
You can watch videos about the formation process of Jeju and its volcanic activities, as well as appreciate over 400 Jeju volcanic stones. You can also see the rhodolith beach, designated as a natural monument, and iron sand that sticks to magnets.
It takes about 30 minutes by rental car from downtown Jeju, and you can use the dedicated parking lot. Since some sections within the 1-million-pyeong (approx. 3.3 million square meters) park are unpaved, it is recommended to wear comfortable sneakers for walking.
