Seogwipo Sombancheon
I visited on a weekday morning,
simply enjoying a refreshing stroll! :)

Since it was morning, the scorching sun wasn't too intense,
making it even more perfect for a delightful dip!
Just looking at these photos of Sombancheon Valley,
can't you already feel the incredibly refreshing atmosphere?

The area is perfectly set up for dipping your feet in,
so it's no surprise that on weekends, many visitors come with picnics and tents,
to relax and play!

On weekends, this particular gazebo spot
is especially popular and can be quite sought-after!

The water here is incredibly cold,
and even just a quick dip of my feet
felt like the heat instantly melted away!
Sombancheon: Perfect for Families with Kids
At Sombancheon, you can access the water's edge by using the stairs.

However, please be cautious as the stairs and rocks can become slippery when wet,
especially when descending with children.
It's highly recommended to bring along slippers or aqua shoes for extra safety and comfort!

From June 24, 2026
To September 20, 2026
All visitors can rent life jackets during this period! :)
If you're going with young children,
it's best to bring their own child-sized life jackets.
There weren't as many people as I expected,
so we could really enjoy playing in the water at our leisure.
There are sections where the water isn't deep,
making it suitable for young children to play in.

However, in natural streams like this one, if it rains,
the water level and current can change suddenly.
So even if the water looks shallow, never leave children unattended and
always prioritize safety!
Always wear aqua shoes and a life jacket,
and stay vigilant.

On a side note, you might also
encounter some adorable ducks! :)
I've been many times, and they often start appearing from mid-July.
Enjoying Jeju's Summer Water Fun for Free
One of the best places to visit in Seogwipo, Jeju,
Sompancheon's biggest advantage is that
there's no separate entrance fee!
If you're on a summer trip to Jeju,
it's a great spot to stop by, cool your feet,
or enjoy some light water play with the kids.

Even in the middle of summer, the stream water is incredibly cold,
so rather than staying in for too long,
it's a good idea to take breaks and rest outside the water.
It's fine to bring packed food or order delivery,
but cooking is strictly prohibited!

I once saw people cooking when I was out for a walk at night,
but it's not allowed! Please, please follow the rules!
Sompancheon Floor Fountain
At the Sompancheon Water Playground in Seogwipo,
there's also a floor fountain that kids absolutely love.

With cool water shooting up from the ground,
just running around here is super fun! 🩵

Seogwipo Sompancheon Musical Fountain Operating Hours: 10:30 AM ~ 7:30 PM (30 minutes on, 30 minutes off) |
While it's possible to take your pet dog or puppy for a walk here,
leash use and waste collection are mandatory.

Aggressive breeds must wear a muzzle,
and to protect the water quality,
pets are not allowed to enter the stream.
