Jeju Island Oreum Trekking: Top 5 Peaks for September 2026

To enjoy one *oreum* (volcanic cone) and light trekking each day in Jeju this September, I've put together a 7-night, 8-day itinerary, covering everything from flights and rental cars to accommodation and the *oreums* worth visiting in September.

Usually, when I travel to Jeju,

I try to go light, without checked luggage.

But this time, it's a 7-night, 8-day trip,

and the weather suddenly turned chilly,

so packing long-sleeved clothes meant a mountain of luggage!

In the end, I decided to ditch my old suitcase,

which I'd used for over 10 years, and get a brand new one for checked baggage.

Initially, I was going to pay for one that cost ~$197,

but after much thought, I finally settled on the ~$95 one!

For this Jeju trip, due to my husband's schedule,

we decided to arrive in Jeju late on a Sunday evening

and take a 10 AM flight back on the following Sunday.

For Jeju routes, even on the same date,

prices can vary depending on the departure time and airline.

So, I decided to compare desired times and fares

all at once on Skyscanner.

We booked about two weeks before our trip,

choosing a relatively inexpensive time slot, and

completed the booking for two people for around ~$109.

Checking again now, I see the prices have gone up quite a bit,

so if you're planning a trip for the Chuseok holiday or October,

it would be wise to compare flights

as soon as your schedule is set.

🚘 Jeju Rental Car Booking > Jeju Sokuro

After settling on our flight times,

the next thing I immediately checked was rental cars.

Since we were arriving in Jeju in the evening for this trip,

I looked for places that offered pick-up at 8 PM.

With so many *oreum* and trekking plans,

we decided to use a rental car instead of public transportation.

Our flight on the last day was at 10 AM,

so instead of returning the car that morning,

we decided to return it on Saturday afternoon,

and take a taxi to the airport the next day.

My husband usually handles the rental car bookings,

and he typically uses the Tamnao / Jeju Sokuro apps.

This time, we booked through the Jeju Sokuro app,

scheduling a Sunday pick-up and Saturday return,

and applied a discount coupon.
