The rustic charm of this fishing village, paired with its breathtaking coastal scenery,

Strolling along the harbor as a cool breeze whispers by,

That's precisely why I always make a point to include it in my East Jeju Island itinerary,

even if just for a brief, refreshing visit.

The name ‘Ojo (吾照)’ itself carries a beautiful meaning:

‘When the sun rises over Ilchulbong Peak, its first rays illuminate me.’

And just like its name suggests, the sight of Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak directly

across the sea is truly an impressive spectacle.

A Beloved K-Drama Filming Location

In recent years, this enchanting spot has gained even more recognition,

becoming a celebrated K-drama filming location.

In the drama 'On the Way to the Airport,' it beautifully set the scene

for emotional exchanges between the protagonists. More recently, in 'Welcome to Samdal-ri,'

it charmed viewers as a place that perfectly encapsulated

the warm and rustic village atmosphere.

I actually first discovered this beautiful spot when I watched

the drama 'On the Way to the Airport' back in 2016.

Completely captivated by the stunning scenery shown in the series,

I made sure to visit it for the very first time on my next trip to Jeju Island.

If you experience this enchanting scenery firsthand – scenery so captivating

it’s been chosen as a drama backdrop – you’ll instantly understand why

I wholeheartedly recommend it as a must-visit for your Jeju autumn travel itinerary~♡

Ojo Port Parking Information

Ojo-ri is such a quaint, tiny village, which means

finding parking right at Ojo Port can be a bit of a challenge.

In fact, you can pretty much consider vehicle access and

parking impossible from the port entrance itself.

As the signs might suggest,

if you've managed to find one of the free parking spots nearby,

then you're all set to park!

But if you're like me and weren't able to snag a free spot,

head for the parking lot of the

'Ojo-ri Community Welfare Center', which is conveniently located directly across from the port entrance!

Bonus tip: if you go around to the right side of the building, you'll find an open public restroom – super handy!

Every Path is a Picture-Perfect View

The walk down to the port isn't terribly long, so it's a pleasant stroll with no stress at all.

But what truly makes it special is that the path itself is a work of art!

I've visited almost all the famous tourist spots in Jeju Island,

but I've truly never seen scenery quite like this anywhere else.

As I wandered along, I spotted a charming little bookstore,

but it appears to be closed now,

which was a real shame.

Just a heads-up, the most popular photo zone at Ojo Port is actually

right next to this bookstore,

but I've heard many reviews that the path can be a bit treacherous and

not very comfortable to walk, so

I always give it a pass! 😄

If you're wondering where to find a charming Ojo Port cafe,

you'll discover this spot right along the path as you walk.

It's a lovely spot that doubles as a souvenir shop and a cafe,

and I believe it's the only cafe you'll find around Ojo Port.

A few years back, there used to be a beautiful white piano in front of this building that perfectly complemented the scenery,

so it's a little sad to see it gone now.

Charming Port Overlooking Seongsan Ilchulbong

After passing the charming souvenir shop and cafe, a short walk further will bring you right to Ojo Port!

And just like that, a breathtaking, picturesque scene unfolds right before your eyes!

I truly believe this charmingly winding path adds so much character to the port's beautiful scenery.

Ah... it brings back memories of scenes from 'On the Way to the Airport'.

The brilliant blue sky, the endless sea, and the majestic Seongsan Ilchulbong –

isn't it just absolutely stunning?

For your Jeju Island East itinerary,

the reason why I highly recommend this spot near Seongsan Ilchulbong –

well, this view alone makes a pretty compelling case, wouldn't you say?!

A Space Full of Jeju Vibes

As you walk along Ojo Port, you'll find yourself facing the sea,

and a small building will catch your eye.

This spot famously appeared in the drama <On the Way to the Airport>

as the workshop of the main character, Seo Do-woo,

and in <Welcome to Samdal-ri>,

it reappeared as the village general store.

This small building, brimming with Jeju's unique charm,

truly feels like it completes the scenic beauty of Ojo Port!

When I first visited, the atmosphere was exactly as it was on the drama set,

with the original ambiance still lingering,

and my next visit found it transformed into a cafe and gallery.

When I went back last year, it had ceased operations,

and only the building remained.

While you can't go inside anymore,

this building, set against the ocean backdrop, is still

a beloved spot where many travelers capture their memories,

making it a true Jeju photo hotspot.

A magical landscape where every shot

turns into a pictorial.

Ojo Port is truly a photo zone everywhere you look.

The scenery, where the sea and the fishing village blend harmoniously,

is calm yet emotional,

making it a highly recommended Jeju photo spot!

and you'll encounter a bridge stretching over the sea.

It feels as if you're walking on water.

This path also connects to Jeju Olle Trail Course 2,

making it a popular spot for walkers to take a break

and soak in the scenery.

Ojo-ri is said to be the most 'Jeju-like' village,

preserving the charm of an old village

with its quaint stone wall paths.

After a stroll around the port, I highly recommend

walking through the small village along these stone walls!

With Seongsan Ilchulbong, the sea, and the tranquil village

beautifully harmonizing,

it's a place where simply lingering for a moment brings a sense of peace.

It might not be a flashy tourist destination,

but Ojo Port retains the quietude and rustic beauty

of a Jeju seaside village.
