Planning a trip to Jeju (제주)? You might be tempted to arrive just in time for check-in, but I'm here to tell you why getting to the JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa (제주 메리어트 리조트 앤 스파) even an hour or two early can transform your stay. Trust me, I arrived nearly two hours ahead of schedule, and it was one of the best decisions I made!

First up: the stunning, immaculate lobby. Have you ever arrived at a hotel feeling less than satisfied after a long flight or a tedious journey? Not here. The moment you step into the JW Marriott Jeju, a sense of calm and luxury washes over you. Even after battling a typhoon the day before, which left me drenched and grumpy, my mood instantly lifted upon entering this beautiful resort. I immediately wished I had booked for two nights!

Indulging in sweet desserts and a cup of tea in the lobby was pure bliss. A quick tip: if you have a credit card that offers complimentary valet service, definitely bring it along! It makes arrival so much smoother. Otherwise, valet parking is ₩25,000 (~$19). The personalized check-in process, including explanations of the resort's amenities, can take around 15 minutes. This is a good thing – it means they care about your experience, so why rush it?

They even shared a fantastic perk: if you sign up for their membership, breakfast for two children is complimentary! While we couldn't enjoy the full brunch due to our flight schedule, it's a wonderful option for families.

My spirits were soaring! It was a stark contrast to our previous accommodation at Hamdeok Sonobelle (함덕 소노벨), which, despite being a suite, just didn't compare to the immediate comfort and joy we found here. While waiting for our room to be ready, my kids and I had a lovely time just chatting and soaking in the relaxed atmosphere.

The second reason to arrive early? Access to the exclusive lounge! This is a huge hit with families, as kids get unlimited ice cream. My children were absolutely thrilled, even if we only managed to visit twice during our one-night stay. The surrounding scenery from the lounge is also breathtaking, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the views. Be sure to take advantage of the lounge benefits, including two complimentary takeaway drinks. While parfaits aren't included, I highly recommend the Udo Peanut Cream Coffee (우도땅콩크림커피) – it's delicious, though taste preferences can vary!

Next to the Udo Peanut Cream Latte, you'll find fresh orange juice. They even mentioned it's made from freshly squeezed fruit – a lovely touch!

The third reason to arrive early is the fantastic Kids Club! There are both complimentary and paid programs available. After a bit of fun in the lounge before check-in, I took my children straight to the Kids Club. It’s a wonderful way for parents to enjoy some much-needed free time!

Surprisingly, it wasn't too crowded inside, and I even saw some international kids enjoying themselves. While some children were quietly reading, mine preferred to burn off energy with active play! They loved the climbing wall, which is perfect for elementary school-aged kids.

There's also a ball pit, which seems ideal for toddlers and younger children. Even if it doesn't look like much, my kids happily played there for a full hour!

The Kids Club also features a selection of books, including both Korean and English titles, catering to a diverse group of young guests.

For a more structured activity, the Kids Club offers paid programs. For instance, there's a creative workshop where children can build something using gears for ₩60,000 (~$45). It’s a great way to engage their minds!

Finally, you can even enjoy the swimming pools before check-in! This is a fantastic perk for those who love to swim. You can use both the indoor and outdoor pools to kickstart your vacation. During our visit, the weather was stormy, so we mostly stuck to the indoor pool, but the outdoor area with its warm bubble spa was incredibly inviting. Just a heads-up: professional cameras and GoPros are not allowed in the pool area; only cell phone photography is permitted.

So, there you have it – plenty of compelling reasons to arrive at the JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa well before your official check-in time. It’s all about maximizing your experience from the moment you step foot on the property!
