The Assorted Sashimi at Jeju Makotto is highly recommended!

After a fun day of swimming and water activities, we were absolutely starving! 😂 We visited Jeju Makotto in Siheung with a large group of 7 adults and 3 kids. Even though we arrived as a large party, they had plenty of spacious tables ready, allowing us to dine in complete comfort. They also provide high chairs, making it an incredibly family-friendly and kid-friendly dining option. Most of all, the interior was extremely spacious, clean, and refreshing, which instantly put us in a great mood the moment we walked in! :)

A Beautiful Space with Stunning Window Views
Jeju Makotto has an incredibly clean and modern aesthetic! Thanks to the bright sunlight streaming through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows and the open, refreshing view, the space felt incredibly airy and spacious. We felt so relaxed throughout our entire meal. The ambiance is perfect not just for family gatherings, but also for catching up with friends or going on a lovely dinner date!

A Generous and Feast-Like Lunch Special
We ordered the popular Lunch Feast set. When the table was fully set, we were absolutely blown away by the presentation! 😍

🤍 Oriental Garden Salad
The perfect light appetizer to wake up your palate. The refreshing dressing paired beautifully with the seafood dishes, giving us a delightful start to the meal.

🤍 Assorted Sashimi
The sashimi was unbelievably fresh!!! The texture was perfectly chewy, with absolutely zero fishiness, which made all the seafood lovers in our group incredibly happy. We couldn't stop raving about it! lol

🤍 Whole Fried Cutlassfish ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The absolute star of the show! The second this was placed on our table, everyone let out a collective "Wow!" in amazement. The visual of the entire cutlassfish fried whole was jaw-dropping. It was incredibly crispy on the outside and wonderfully juicy and tender on the inside—even the kids devoured it! The crispy fried bones were an absolute masterpiece. Since there was no fishy odor at all, everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. (Just be sure to help the kids watch out for any fine bones in the flesh!)

🤍 Jeju-style Spicy Raw Fish Salad
The sweet, sour, and spicy dressing was incredibly addictive. The vegetables were crisp and fresh, and they certainly didn't skimp on the raw fish. It kept us reaching for more! It also pairs wonderfully with a bowl of rice.

🤍 Abalone Innards Rice (Gaeubap)
This had an incredibly rich, savory, and buttery aroma. They were very generous with the abalone, and because the flavor wasn't overly intense or salty, it paired beautifully with all the other dishes. Eating it alongside the spicy fish bone stew was pure heaven! Personally, this was one of my absolute favorite dishes of the day.

The perfect way to wrap up a seafood feast. The broth was delightfully spicy, deep, and refreshing, instantly cleansing our palates! Even though we were completely stuffed, we couldn't stop sipping the soup.

A La Carte Add-ons
Even though the set was incredibly filling, we couldn't resist ordering a few extra items to try!

🍜 Jeju Red Banded Lobster (Scampi) Ramen
The broth, deeply infused with the rich flavor of red banded lobsters, was so hearty and comforting it felt like the ultimate hangover cure. Having three whole scampi in there was amazing! It was spicy, savory, and packed with umami—we finished the entire bowl in seconds!

This is a milder, more delicate alternative to the ramen. Thanks to its clean and comforting broth, it's a crowd-pleaser that anyone from kids to grandparents will love!

🍽 Kids' Pork Cutlet (Donkatsu)
We were so glad they had a dedicated children's menu! The pork cutlet was perfectly crispy, and the kids loved it so much that the adults could actually enjoy their meal in peace. Honestly, their pork cutlet is a culinary masterpiece on its own! haha

Final Thoughts
Since we visited right after swimming, everyone was incredibly hungry. We were so happy that both the adults and kids were completely satisfied with this amazing meal! :)

Every single dish was high quality, and the portions were incredibly generous. I highly recommend this spot for family gatherings, group dinners, or celebrations!

From the wide, comfortable space and the beautiful window views to the fresh seafood and show-stopping whole fried cutlassfish—everything was perfect.
