Haejang Salon Jungmun Direct Branch
Hello everyone, this is Jae-yi!
Today, I'm excited to introduce
Haejang Salon's Jungmun Direct Branch, a place
my friend recently visited and absolutely
loved, so much so that they're planning
to take their parents there next time!
As a matter of fact, it recently popped up on
the social media story of a friend who loves
hunting for great restaurants. I was so intrigued,
thinking, 'There's a Haejangguk place that serves
dishes in Le Creuset tableware...?! How unique!'
Turns out, that intriguing spot was none other than
Haejang Salon's Jungmun Direct Branch, the very place I'm sharing with you today!
Jeju Island, especially, can be a bit challenging to
explore everywhere using public transport, so I'll
leave a Klook car rental link below for you!
1. Exterior & Interior

At first, I wondered if finding parking might be difficult,
but it was great to see the Haejang Salon logo prominently displayed on the way in.

Visiting around sunset, we could see the beautiful glow of the evening sky from the side.
I loved that one side was almost entirely floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a wonderfully open and airy space.

Inside, there were 4-person tables,
as well as tables that could be combined to seat up to 8 people,
making it perfect for group gatherings.
And guess what? The tableware was actually Le Creuset...?!
There were so many cute details, making it fun just to look around!
2. Menu Options

Ordering and payment are conveniently done right at your table using the provided tablets.
They have individual a la carte dishes, as well as course and set menus,
and this time, I decided to go for a course menu.

As you can see above, the course menus are available for
2 to 4 people. You can choose one Haejangguk per person,
and a total of four side dishes are served.
The side dishes include Black Pork Yukjeon (savory pan-fried meat), Hancheo-jeon (squid pancake), Grilled Abalone, and Boneless Grilled Beltfish!

3. Main Dishes & Side Dishes

Have you ever imagined such vibrant, colorful tableware
at a Haejangguk restaurant...? They truly serve everything in Le Creuset!
With such a colorful visual spread and a variety of dishes,
your eyes get to feast first!

First, let's talk about the soup dishes.
We thought it would be perfect to share if we chose one clear soup and one slightly spicy option.
So, we ordered one Clear Beef Brisket Haejangguk,
and one Boneless Beltfish Stew!
I personally love Korean beef and radish soup (Sogogi Muguk), and the Beef Brisket Haejangguk, with its brisket, naturally...
a richer, deeper flavor, if I had to describe it?
Yet it was also so refreshing, I thought to myself, 'This is truly the perfect haejangguk
for a hangover...'

Next up was the boneless hairtail stew.
As you can see, it's made with boneless hairtail, which means
no need to pick out bones – so convenient!
The hairtail was tender and delicious, but
guess what else was generously added? Radish!
When you eat fish stews or braises like this,
you know radish is truly the secret ingredient...!!!
The radish, perfectly seasoned with a sweet and spicy balance, was incredibly tasty and
melted in your mouth.

And then, the short-arm octopus pancake (Hanchi Jeon) arrived!
It was packed full of short-arm octopus...

And this onion and chili soy sauce they gave us
for dipping the pancakes? It was seriously amazing...
Sweet with the crisp crunch of onion and
the spicy kick of chili, it truly went well with everything.

The Black Pork Yukjeon (savory pancake) was made with very thinly sliced meat,
generously seasoned with coarse black pepper, and then
grilled. It gave off a wonderfully fragrant peppery aroma!
While it paired nicely with the fresh kimchi served alongside,
I personally preferred eating it with that onion and chili soy sauce – truly my kind of flavor!

When all the dishes arrived, my friend took a bite of this
grilled abalone first, and immediately
gave a thumbs-up, saying this place really knows its stuff!
The bean sprouts, shrimp, and abalone all
harmonized perfectly, and the seasoning was just right!

And this is the boneless grilled hairtail that completely won me over...!!
It's interestingly rolled up into a circle, and since it's
boneless, you can just take a huge, satisfying bite, right?
Wow, it was rich and the flesh was incredibly tender –
it made me realize this is why you go for boneless grilled hairtail!
Taking a big bite without worrying about bones, and then
having it with a spoonful of white rice? Pure happiness!
Honestly, that day was packed with a tight schedule, so
I was pretty tired.
But hearing my friend say it was so delicious that they'd have to bring their parents
back again soon – it made me feel unexpectedly proud...
You know, sometimes a haejangguk restaurant can feel a bit casual for bringing guests,
but this place was spotlessly clean, and all the dishes were beautifully
presented in Le Creuset tableware, which was a lovely touch!
