Jeju Hamel is situated in Nohyeong-dong, Jeju City, making it just about a 15-minute drive from Jeju Airport.
This prime location means you could easily stop by to make your reservation on your first day after arriving at the airport, and then pick up your pre-ordered Cheezemong on your last day before heading back to the airport.
Just a heads-up: parking directly in front of the store isn't very spacious. Instead of trying to find a spot on the narrow street, it's a much more relaxed experience to use one of the nearby public parking lots.
Before you even think about visiting Jeju Hamel, the most crucial thing to know is that they do not accept phone reservations.
To guarantee your Cheezemong for a specific date, you'll need to visit the store in person to specify your quantity, choose your pickup date, and pre-pay.
I made my reservation about five days before my nieces and nephews arrived in Jeju, reserving one box. After providing my name, contact information, quantity, and pickup date, and completing the payment, I received a reservation receipt.
I highly recommend taking a photo of this receipt to ensure you don't lose it, as you'll need it for pickup.
You can reserve a maximum of 10 boxes per person. If you're looking to purchase on the same day without a reservation, you're limited to one box per person. Reserved items must be picked up by 5:30 PM on your designated date.
If you're buying these as gifts during your trip, the most convenient schedule is to reserve on your first day and pick up on your last. If making two trips to the store isn't feasible for your itinerary, another option is to arrive a bit before their 11 AM opening time and try for a same-day, walk-in purchase.
The Cheezemong I picked up on my reserved day came in a box of 10, each individually wrapped. This was such a perfect setup for sharing with family!
The taste? It was a wonderfully soft, soufflé-style cheesecake that just melted in your mouth.
The sweetness wasn't overpowering, and the rich, savory cheese flavor really shone through. It was clear why this spot is famous as a top Jeju dessert destination.
We enjoyed them with iced Americanos, and also paired them with fresh, tart fruits. I have to say, they were especially delicious with fruit!
With individual packaging and even insulated cooler bags available, these aren't just great for immediate enjoyment but also make fantastic souvenirs or gifts to take home from your Jeju trip.
If you plan to eat them within a few days, refrigerate them to maintain that moist, soft texture. For any leftover Cheezemong, you can freeze them. When eaten straight from the freezer, they transform into a delightful cheese ice cream-like treat, a completely different experience from the soft cheesecake!

However, the inability to make phone reservations means you'll need to visit the store twice for both booking and pickup, which is a definite drawback.
If your itinerary is packed, this could be a burden. Therefore, I highly recommend planning your route in advance, aiming to reserve on your first day and pick up on your last.
