Hello there, fellow travelers! While cruising along the scenic Hallym (한림) beach road on Jeju Island, I stumbled upon a cafe that truly captured my heart. It's the kind of place where the owner crafts special desserts right on-site, and the coffee is so incredibly smooth and nutty, without any bitterness.
Even as someone who doesn't typically enjoy coffee, I fell head over heels for La Salida (라살리다), a cafe in Hallym, Jeju, that I'm thrilled to share with you.

🌊 A Must-Visit Cafe on Jeju's Hallym Coast
Nestled along Jeju's Hallym coastal road, Cafe Salida offers breathtaking ocean views and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.
While it's been open for about a year, the interior is impeccably clean and organized, with every corner thoughtfully arranged.

Beyond the inviting indoor space, there's also a lovely outdoor terrace. The chairs were surprisingly comfortable, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee with the refreshing sea breeze on a beautiful day.

Adding to the charm, the cafe is home to an incredibly friendly cat who absolutely adores people. It approached us without any hesitation, acting just like a dog in a cat's body! This lovable feline might just be the official mascot of Cafe Salida. 🐈

On the day we visited, the wind was quite strong, so we opted to stay indoors. However, the views from the indoor window seats were still incredibly satisfying. Just soaking in the relaxed atmosphere felt like a true healing experience.

☕ Coffee Even Non-Drinkers Will Love, Paired with Jeju Jireumtteok
During this visit, we savored a morning set that combined coffee with traditional Jeju Jireumtteok (제주지름떡), alongside a refreshing Hagul (하귤) dessert. As I mentioned, I usually avoid coffee due to its typical bitter taste.
However, the coffee here was incredibly impressive – clean, smooth, and nutty, without any bitterness or lingering aftertaste.
It was so delicious that I complimented the owner directly, who told me that every customer raves about their coffee.
I completely understood why. Even as a non-coffee enthusiast, I found myself craving it again and definitely want to revisit.

The accompanying Jeju Jireumtteok also exceeded expectations. Freshly baked, these traditional rice cakes were crispy on the outside and wonderfully chewy inside, offering a delightful texture. The savory and subtly sweet Jireumtteok paired perfectly with the clean-tasting coffee.
If you're looking for a unique Jeju dessert experience, I highly recommend trying this!
🍊 Refreshing Homemade Hagul Sorbet Ice Cream
One of the most memorable items from our visit was the homemade Hagul (하귤) sorbet ice cream.
Initially, I wasn't familiar with Hagul, but I learned it's a large variety of tangerine native to Jeju, harvested in the summer. I was surprised by its significantly larger size compared to regular tangerines! What truly amazed me was that the owner makes this Hagul sorbet from scratch.
With the first spoonful, the refreshing tang and coolness of the tangerine filled my mouth, leaving me utterly delighted. It wasn't just artificially sweet; the natural tartness and subtle sweetness of the Hagul blended harmoniously, making it truly special.
The combination was particularly fantastic: enjoying the savory Jeju Jireumtteok followed by the bright, zesty Hagul sorbet to cleanse the palate.

🎶 Retro Vibes in the LP Room and a Friendly Owner
As I explored the cafe, a charming and beautifully decorated LP room caught my eye. This space exuded a wonderful retro charm, making it a joy to browse through the collection.
Listening to the soft music in such a warm and cozy atmosphere, while gazing out at the ocean, made time simply fly by.

From the meticulously placed decor to the overall ambiance, it was clear how much passion the owner poured into this cafe. They greeted us warmly and kindly explained the menu, ensuring we had a comfortable and delightful experience throughout our visit. With its aesthetic interior and beautiful setting, this Jeju Hallym cafe is truly perfect for intimate conversations.

📝 Honest Review and Tips Before You Visit
Overall, my satisfaction with Cafe Salida was incredibly high. However, since it's located right on the Hallym coast, windy days can make the outdoor terrace a bit challenging to enjoy. I recommend checking the weather forecast before your visit.
If the weather is pleasant, definitely opt for the outdoor terrace; on windy days, the cozy indoor space is a fantastic alternative!
