Cafe Dugasi Seogwipo Review 2026: A Cozy Jeju Island Gem
Tucked away in Seogwipo's Andeok-myeon, Cafe Dugasi offers a serene escape in a beautifully renovated old Jeju house. Savor exquisite homemade cakes and soak in the tranquil atmosphere.
Dugasi Cafe
The name "Dugasi" in the Jeju dialect beautifully translates to "couple" in standard Korean. This charming cafe is lovingly run by a husband and wife, and it boasts an impressive Naver rating of 4.6, a testament to its quality and warm atmosphere.
Operating Hours | 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM |
Closing Days | Every Tuesday, Wednesday |
Address | 9 Daepyeonggamsan-ro, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do |
A quick tip for exploring Jeju Island: many local establishments, including cafes, sometimes change their hours unexpectedly. It's always a good idea to double-check their Instagram page or give them a call before you visit to confirm their exact operating hours and closing days. This ensures a smooth and enjoyable experience!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Cafe Dugasi, a spot that immediately captivates with its quaint, hand-written signs. What truly sets this cafe apart is its spacious Jeju-style yard and its origin as a beautifully renovated traditional old house.
Cafe Dugasi is renowned as an 'atmospheric cafe' on Jeju, where lush green plants and a serene garden blend seamlessly, creating a cozy and tranquil ambiance. They are also known for their delicious homemade cakes, crafted with care right here.

You might even catch a glimpse of vibrant red flowers blooming, adding a splash of color to the natural setting. Unlike flashy, trendy mega-cafes, Dugasi offers a more modest and soulful space, perfect for quiet contemplation and lingering moments.
Parking
While Cafe Dugasi doesn't have its own dedicated parking lot, there's a convenient public parking area directly across the street in the village.
Menu

They pride themselves on using only the finest ingredients, including 100% domestic animal cream and premium French products, ensuring every bite is a luxurious experience.
Interior

The interior truly embraces the spirit of Jeju, featuring traditional basalt stone walls that evoke a deep sense of local charm. With lush plants visible from the windows, the cafe feels wonderfully connected to nature, creating a refreshing ambiance.
It genuinely feels like a carefully preserved and renovated old Jeju home. As I made my way to the cafe, I noticed many traditional Jeju houses dotted along the road, adding to the authentic island experience.

The tranquil atmosphere is a huge plus. While there aren't a ton of seats, it's definitely a welcoming place even if you're flying solo. I noticed many people enjoying the cafe by themselves, reading or simply reflecting in the peaceful setting.
It's far more suited for quiet moments of reading or contemplation, either alone or with a small group, rather than a boisterous gathering. Plus, the owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming!

There's even a cozy bench where you can sit and relax if you happen to arrive during a busy period.
Restroom

The restroom facilities are also impeccably clean, which is always a welcome detail.

Here’s a peek at some of their delicious dessert offerings:
Fresh Banana Pudding: ~$4
Black Sesame Gateau Chocolat: ~$5
Pistachio Almond Cake: ~$6
Raspberry Vanilla Cake: ~$5
Jeju Gujwa Carrot Cake: ~$5
Double Choco Gotjawal: ~$5
It's fantastic to see them using real Valrhona chocolate! And of course, Jeju's Gujwa carrots are famously delicious, making their carrot cake a must-try.
Food & Drinks

During my visit, I indulged in the Jeju Gujwa Carrot Cake (~$5), the Raspberry Vanilla Cake (~$5), and an Isigny Butter Cream Latte (~$4). While the prices might not be the cheapest, knowing they use such high-quality ingredients makes it entirely worth it.

The cakes were rich, wonderfully refreshing, and the carrot flavor in particular was deep and absolutely delicious. This cozy space at Cafe Dugasi is perfect for unwinding with a drink or enjoying a slice of cake, and takeout is also an option. With their commitment to quality ingredients and a truly inviting atmosphere, it's a place I'd definitely love to visit again!
