I also visited this place while looking for a hearty meal
near Jeju International Airport.
That day, we ordered Bomal Kalguksu (sea snail noodle soup) and Bomal Juk (sea snail porridge),
along with Ogyeopsal Dombe-gogi (five-layer pork dombe-gogi)!

Bomal Kalguksu Restaurant near Jeju International Airport, Bomal Han Geurut
Full of customers even though lunchtime was a bit over

Bomal Han Geurut Jeju International Airport Main Branch, located near Jeju International Airport!
Since I came to Jeju, I really wanted to try some bomal (sea snail) dishes,
and since this place is close to the airport,
it seemed like a good spot to stop by during my itinerary.
Even though I visited a little after lunchtime,
the restaurant was almost full of customers!
Luckily, when I went, I was able to enter right away without waiting. Haha!
Even though it was a bit past peak mealtime,
seeing so many people made me think it must be quite a popular place.
There might be a wait depending on the time of day,
so I recommend visiting during off-peak hours!
Clean and Comfortable Restaurant Atmosphere

The restaurant had quite a lot of customers, likely because it was mealtime.
People were flocking in, to the point where there was even a wait,
so overall, the atmosphere was a bit bustling.
Rather than a quiet and relaxed dining experience,
it felt more like a lively restaurant with customers constantly coming and going.
Especially because it's near Jeju International Airport, many people
seem to visit for meals on their first or last day of travel.
Even when we visited, the restaurant was bustling,
but that also gave the impression that it's a popular spot.
If you're looking for a more relaxed meal,
it might be good to visit slightly outside peak meal times! 😊
Bomal Han Geurut: 3 Dishes Ordered
Bomal Kalguksu + Bomal Juk + Ogyeopsal Dombe-gogi

That day, we ordered a total of 3 dishes!
Since I came to Jeju, I really wanted to try some bomal (sea snail) dishes,
and it was great to be able to try both the Kalguksu and Juk.
Also, eating just noodles or porridge felt a bit incomplete,
so we ordered Jeju-style Dombe-gogi as well. Haha!
If you're visiting with a group, ordering several dishes
to share seems like a good idea!
Rich and Savory Jeju Bomal Kalguksu

Finally, the Bomal Kalguksu we'd been waiting for!
I took a spoonful of the broth first,
and wow, it was much richer and more savory than I expected. Lol!
Bomal Han Geurut states that they use broth made from 100% bomal (sea snails),
and indeed,
I could distinctly taste the unique oceanic aroma of bomal
and its savory flavor.
Rather than being an aggressively spicy or salty style,
it was a broth that highlighted the natural flavor of the sea snails, which I personally preferred~
The broth was delicious, but the combination with the noodles was also excellent!
The rich broth blended perfectly with the noodles,
and I slurped it down so quickly that before I knew it,
the bowl was empty haha.
Bomal Kalguksu (보말칼국수) has a different charm
from typical seafood Kalguksu (칼국수) 😊
Creamy and Savory Jeju Bomal Juk

If Bomal Kalguksu is a dish where you enjoy rich broth and noodles together,
Jeju Bomal Juk (제주 보말죽) captivated me with its soft texture and savory flavor!
The juk itself was so smooth that it was easy to eat without any heaviness,
and I could really taste the unique savory flavor of the sea snails.
It felt especially different from a soup dish,
so alternating between the two dishes was great and kept things interesting haha.
It seemed like it would be perfect for breakfast or lunch too~
Bomal Kalguksu and Bomal Juk: Try Them Both!
Honestly, at first, I considered ordering only one of them,
but after trying them together, their different tastes and textures
made me realize ordering both was a great choice!
Bomal Kalguksu boasts a rich, savory broth, while
Bomal Juk is characterized by its smooth texture and deep savory flavor.
Tender and Juicy Ogyeopsal Dombe-gogi

We also ordered Ogyeopsal Dombe-gogi (오겹살 돔베고기) along with the sea snail dishes!
Since we're in Jeju (제주), we had to try Dombe-gogi (돔베고기) too, right? lol
The meat wasn't tough or dry;
it was consistently soft and tender, which I loved~

If you only eat Bomal Kalguksu or Bomal Juk,
it might feel a bit light, but
adding Dombe-gogi made the meal
feel so much more substantial?!
The combination of rich Bomal Kalguksu and tender Dombe-gogi,
especially when eaten alternately, was fantastic haha.
Surprisingly Delicious Self-Serve Barley Rice

And what surprisingly stuck with me here
was the barley rice available at the self-serve bar!
At first, I just thought of it as a side dish to go with the meal~

I took a portion of barley rice,
mixed it with gochujang (고추장) and sesame oil, and stirred it all up to eat, and
it was surprisingly delicious hahahaha.
It seems like such a simple thing, but this combination is truly a hidden gem!
It's great to have a little bit before eating your Bomal Kalguksu,
or to enjoy it alongside your main dishes.
You know how it is with self-serve bars like this, right?
You just can't help but go back for more haha.
