Jeju Family Fun: Batdi Ranch Cafe & Horseback Riding in Seogwipo
Planning a family trip to Jeju? Batdi Ranch Cafe in Seogwipo offers horseback riding, quirky bikes, and a cozy cafe—a perfect blend of fun for all ages!

Stumped on what to do with the kids in Jeju?
Planning a trip to Seogwipo on Jeju's eastern side often comes with a common challenge. It's not that there's a lack of things to do, but when you're trying to pick family-friendly spots, it often feels like the kids are doing one thing and the adults are doing another, leaving everyone feeling a bit disconnected.

That's when we stumbled upon Batdi Ranch Cafe.
Horseback riding, unique bicycles, horse feeding, and a cafe – all in one place? Honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first. But after visiting, I can tell you the photos turned out amazing, and I genuinely, highly, *highly* recommend it!

Located about ~20.5 miles from Jeju Airport, this spot is perfect for spending a fulfilling half-day when you're planning an East Jeju itinerary. We visited Batdi before heading to Eco Land, and I definitely recommend adding it if you're exploring the eastern part of the island.
Cafe Batdi

Before our activities, my child wanted juice, so we relaxed at the cafe. It’s beautifully decorated and has such a charming, aesthetic vibe.

With a white and wood-toned interior and large windows overlooking the ranch, every corner of this place is Instagram-worthy. The ambiance just radiates charm!

The attention to detail is so impressive, it made me wonder what fonts they used! It's probably why every picture you take here looks like a postcard.

The menu also offered a great selection for both kids and adults, which was a huge plus.

I tried the ice cream latte, and the rich, creamy ice cream on top was absolutely delicious.

From ice cream and cheesecake to hojicha cream lattes, you won't regret any choice from their menu.
Horseback Riding: A Must-Do if You're with a Partner!
Batdi's horseback riding experience offers several courses:
Course | Distance | Price |
Basic Course | ~0.12 miles | ~$7 |
Songibak Course | ~0.5 miles | ~$16 |
Stone Wall Course | ~1.06 miles | ~$35 |
Ranch Course | ~1.55 miles | ~$51 |

Here's one honest regret: horseback riding requires two people to participate together, and since I was pregnant, I couldn't ride. This meant my child couldn't ride either, which was the most disappointing part of our trip.
Watching the instructor cheerfully guide others, I wished my husband had been with us so my child could have enjoyed it. If you're planning a horseback riding experience, be sure to **check that two people can ride together!**
For reference, children over 30 months old and under ~175 lbs can ride alone. The staff safely controls the speed, so even first-time riders can enjoy it without fear.
Unique Bikes

Target | Price |
Adults, Middle/High School Students | ~$7 |
Children, Elementary School Students | ~$6 |
Horseback Riding + Unique Bike Package | Discount applies |
The usage time is 40 minutes, and within that time, you can ride whatever you like.

From couple bikes and four-seater bikes to electric cars and electric bikes for kids, there's a wide variety. Our child got to try both the electric car and the electric bike, experiencing all the rides they hadn't before!

The 40 minutes flew by so fast, we didn't even realize it! My child is still talking about the electric car... haha!
Horse Feeding Experience

You can also enjoy feeding carrots to the horses in the stables and the cute little ponies outdoors.

A basket of carrots costs ~$3, and the horses will come trotting right up to you!

For the stable horses, you can stand on the stone steps and feed them by hand. For the ponies, you can approach them outdoors and give them treats up close.

The ponies adorably follow my child, who's holding the carrots. They are just too cute!
