Jeju Astar Hotel: Budget-Friendly Stay Near the Airport
Discover why Jeju Astar Hotel is the ultimate budget-friendly basecamp near the airport, featuring an authentic Korean sauna and rooms under $80 a night.
Jeju Astar Hotel
An Affordable, Sauna-Equipped Stay Near the Airport

Located just a 10-minute drive from Jeju International Airport,
and costing less than ~$77 per night even on weekends,
this is my top recommendation for a budget-friendly Jeju hotel.
Despite the affordable price tag,
it boasts excellent on-site facilities,
including a fantastic traditional sauna and a well-equipped fitness center.
I visited on a couples' trip,
but rooms can accommodate up to 4 guests.
They even offer traditional Ondol (Korean heated floor) rooms,
making it an ideal choice for family vacations.
Why I Recommend This Jeju Hotel
My non-negotiable criteria were:
1. Close proximity to Jeju Airport
2. Under ~$77 per night
3. Spotlessly clean rooms
4. Easy access to public transportation
Jeju Astar Hotel checked every single box perfectly.
Astar Hotel Overview
📍 Astar Hotel
129 Seosa-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju-do (ASTAR HOTEL)
- 10 to 15-minute drive from Jeju Airport
- 5-minute walk to the nearest bus stop
- 10-minute drive to Dongmun Traditional Market
- Surrounded by fantastic local restaurants
During the day, we explored the island with our rental car,
but in the evenings, we loved hopping on a bus to grab a few beers.
Having a major bus stop nearby with plenty of routes made getting around a breeze.

We stayed over the New Year holiday (12/30/2025 - 01/02/2026),
and booked our room for around ~$62 per night.
Looking ahead through 2026, excluding major holidays like Lunar New Year,
you can easily snag weekend rates for as low as ~$62 a night.

Deluxe Twin Room (approx. 330-375 sq ft)
1 Single Bed, 1 Double Bed
While the decor felt slightly vintage, the room was impeccably clean.
There wasn't much of a view, but having a window that opens for fresh air was a huge plus,
and the bathroom was spacious and spotless, with no mold or water stains in sight.
One detail I really appreciated:
The shower floor was slightly sunken, so even after a long, hot shower,
the water didn't flood the rest of the bathroom.
In an effort to be eco-friendly, disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided,
but they do have high-quality multi-use dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
They also provide two complimentary bottles of water daily.
We didn't find wine glasses or a corkscrew in the room,
but the front desk happily loaned them to us when we asked
(completely free of charge).

My only minor gripe:
The Deluxe Twin Room has carpeted floors.
It didn't bother me much,
but if you prefer hard floors or want to experience a traditional Korean heated floor (Ondol),
I highly recommend booking the Super Deluxe Double, Super Deluxe Twin,
Premier Double, Premier Triple,
or the Premier Family Ondol Room instead.

One of the absolute highlights of Astar Hotel is its on-site facilities.
For a budget hotel, the quality of the sauna, fitness center, and restaurant
is surprisingly high.
Operating Hours: 06:00 AM - 09:00 PM (2nd Floor)
Entry Fee: Hotel guests get a 50% discount, making it just ~$8.

The gym is well-equipped with treadmills, stationary bikes, and free weights.
It had everything needed for a solid cardio or weightlifting session,
and it was clearly well-maintained with plenty of guests using it.
(You can rent workout clothes, but you must bring your own sneakers!)
The sauna itself is on the smaller side,
but it punches above its weight with cold and hot plunge pools, plus a dry sauna room.
There's even a snack counter inside the sauna where you can buy traditional Korean bathhouse treats
like sweet rice punch (sikhye) and baked eggs! Haha.

Right next to the lobby, there's a handy little convenience store.
It was perfect for grabbing late-night snacks and beers before bed.
Why I was so satisfied with Jeju Astar Hotel:
Beyond the clean rooms and unbeatable price,
the extra amenities really elevated the whole experience.

While we didn't try the room service,
the prices on the menu were incredibly reasonable, and I've heard
the on-site restaurant serves up some seriously good food.
If you're traveling with kids, having a convenient breakfast option is crucial,
making this the perfect budget-friendly basecamp in Jeju.

We parked in the underground garage for all three nights without any issues.
If it happens to fill up,
there's also a spacious surface parking lot available for free,
so you won't have to stress about parking at all.
The neighborhood around Astar Hotel is packed with amazing local eateries, many within easy walking distance.

Another thing that left a lasting impression was the incredible staff.
They always greeted us warmly whenever we passed through the lobby,
and handled all our requests promptly.
The overall atmosphere of the hotel felt incredibly welcoming and comfortable.
Housekeeping did a phenomenal job every day,
ensuring we had a flawless three-night stay.
Honestly, since it's a budget hotel, I wasn't expecting much in terms of service,
which made the experience all the more impressive.

To sum it up, Jeju Astar Hotel offers:
✔ A prime location close to the airport
✔ Wallet-friendly rates, even on weekends
✔ Spotlessly clean rooms
✔ High-quality amenities like a sauna and gym
It's the perfect value-for-money accommodation,
