How to Make a Reservation
Antrae doesn't have a separate Naver reservation system,
but I think you can make a reservation by calling to inquire.
I visited around 9:30 PM on a Saturday evening,
and fortunately, there were plenty of seats, so I got in without waiting.
Many pubs near Yeon-dong can be quite crowded,
but this place is relatively spacious and cozy,
making it perfect for quiet conversations.

Exterior / Interior
Antrae is a cozy neighborhood hof집 (pub) tucked away
in an alley in Jeju Yeon-dong.

'Antrae' means 'inward, inside' in the Jeju dialect.
True to its name, as soon as you step inside,
it feels like a friendly neighborhood hideout.

The interior is divided into a first floor and a basement area,
and tall partitions are installed between each table,
creating a perfect setup for intimate conversations with your companions
without worrying about other tables.

The restrooms are co-ed,
but they are well-maintained, so there was no inconvenience in using them.

Menu & Order Details
Antrae offers
a wide variety of alcoholic beverages, including
draft beer, bottled beer, wine, and whiskey.
Plus, it has all the typical hof집 (pub) menu items like
chicken, dried pollock (meoktae), salads, and various stews.

Review
As soon as I sat down, what caught my eye were
the beautiful fresh flower vases placed on each table.
It felt like the kind of rustic hof house atmosphere,
but elevated with the owner's delicate touch and sensibility!

And right away, we ordered a refreshing draft beer!

You can tell how meticulously they manage their beer;
the carbonation stays alive until the very last drop,
and the first sip goes down so smoothly and refreshingly.
It felt like all the fatigue from our Jeju trip was washed away with just one glass of beer!

Finally, our main anju (bar snack) arrived: chicken!

Unlike the trendy franchise chickens you see these days,
this one features a crispy, classic hof house-style batter.
The way it's served in a basket
somehow makes it feel even more inviting.

Take a bite, and it's crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside!
The rich juices make you want to keep drinking beer.

As we ate, we felt like we needed more, so we additionally ordered moktae (dried pollock).
It came out perfectly crispy,
with a delightful cracker-like crunch, absolutely no sogginess.

Especially the accompanying
soy sauce mayonnaise dip with plenty of Cheongyang chili peppers was a total game-changer!
The combination of the pungent spiciness, savory mayonnaise, and moktae
creates a light, dry anju that you just can't stop reaching for.

Both the chicken and moktae are great for sharing,
making them a perfect combination for a second round of anju in Yeon-dong!
