2. Location and Parking
📍 Jangdong Manam Park
353 Jangdong, Daedeok-gu, Daejeon
Jangdong Manam Park is
located in Jangdong, Daedeok-gu, Daejeon.

Located on the outskirts of Daejeon,
it might be a bit unfamiliar to some,
but it's famous for its green barley scenery in spring
and transforms into a stunning cosmos flower spot in autumn,
offering a completely different vibe.

What's more, it's conveniently located near Gyeryongsan Red Clay Trail,
making it a great spot to visit
as part of a combined itinerary.
One of Jangdong Manam Park's
biggest advantages is
that it's completely free to enter and enjoy.

Without any admission fees,
you can wander through vast green barley fields
and serene walking paths,
making it a highly popular spot for anyone
looking for free attractions in Daejeon.

White Line Parking Zone around the Park
Parking was available along the nearby streets or shoulders around the park.
It's still relatively unknown to many,
so you'll find it more relaxed than you might expect.

🚌 Public Transport
Take Bus 74 (get off at Jangdong Elementary School)
→ Note: Bus frequency can be infrequent
* Personally, I found it more convenient to travel by car.

3. Why It's Perfect for Solo Explorers in Daejeon
As I walked through Jangdong Manam Park,
the biggest impression I got was
how perfectly comfortable it felt
to visit alone.

Often, popular tourist spots can be
crowded and noisy,
sometimes even leaving you feeling more tired than refreshed.
But this place offers an overall
quiet atmosphere where you can stroll leisurely.

The sound of the green barley swaying and
the gentle breeze is especially delightful here.

Just walking without my headphones on,
I felt my thoughts begin to clear.

On days as hectic as these,
this kind of time
felt quite necessary.

There were many people taking photos by themselves,
and many sitting on benches to rest,
making it a perfect spot for a solo trip,
with no pressure at all.

4. My Actual Walking Route and Review
I opted for a route starting from the entrance,
slowly making a full loop.

The path itself isn't difficult,
and it's mostly flat,
so you can walk without any strain.

There are traditional rest huts and shelters dotted along the path,
making it perfect to sit down and rest for a bit.

Amidst the barley fields,
vibrant poppies bloom,
infusing a lively charm into what could otherwise be
a monochromatic green landscape.

As you wander along the paths cutting through the barley fields,
the gentle rustle of the wind
through the green stalks creates a continuous, soothing symphony—
an atmosphere that is truly captivating.

Rather than the hustle and bustle of a crowded cafe,
I actually found this natural setting
to be infinitely more comforting.

The walk time
took about 40 minutes as I slowly looked around and took photos.
It wasn't too short nor too long,
making it the ideal route
for a refreshing dose of healing.

With the Gyejoksan Hwangtot-gil (Red Clay Trail) just a stone's throw away,
if your energy levels are up,
I highly recommend extending your adventure and walking both trails together!

5. Best Photo Spots
While Jangdong Manam Park offers
gorgeous green backdrops no matter where you point your camera,
my personal favorite spot for photos was definitely
among the green barley paths.

The barley stalks reach
just the right height,
creating a magical effect in portrait photos—
it truly feels like you're immersed
in a flowing green wave.

As the sun begins to set,
the entire atmosphere transforms, becoming even more romantic and picturesque—
absolutely perfect for capturing solo landscape shots.

The traditional hut area was also a fantastic photo spot,
and capturing those natural moments when the wind blew
created a much more atmospheric vibe.

6. Pro Tips for Your Visit
✔️The sun can be quite strong, so definitely pack a hat or sunglasses!
✔️From early to mid-May, you'll be greeted by vibrant green barley, and by the end of May, prepare to witness a breathtaking golden wave!
