My honest review of their new Spicy Cheese Bbyeojjim! Expect generous portions and incredibly satisfying fried rice.
Struggling to decide what to have for dinner in Jangandong? I recently heard fantastic things about a new dish at Seokgeori Bossam & Doganitang, a spot I already love in the neighborhood. So, of course, I had to check out their new Spicy Cheese Bbyeojjim!
This restaurant is already famous for its Bossam (boiled pork belly) and Doganitang (ox knee soup), but their latest menu addition truly blew me away.
The portions were incredibly generous, and the combination of spicy sauce with gooey, melted cheese was just perfect. I left feeling utterly satisfied!

Seokgeori Bossam & Doganitang: The Menu
Located right at the Jangandong intersection, the restaurant offers a spacious dining area with comfortable table spacing. It’s perfect for a family meal, a casual get-together with friends, or even a work dinner!
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, promptly bringing extra side dishes or plates whenever we needed them. It really made for a pleasant dining experience.
While Seokgeori Bossam & Doganitang is renowned for its namesake dishes, Bossam and Doganitang, I highly recommend trying their new additions: the Spicy Cheese Bbyeohaejangguk (spicy pork bone soup with cheese) or, even better, the Spicy Cheese Bbyeojjim (spicy braised pork ribs with cheese).
Just last summer, I even ordered their Bossam for takeout during the "Boknal" (dog days of summer), and it was incredibly generous with perfectly prepared kimchi and side dishes. It's truly a local favorite!
Locals in Jangandong know this is the real deal for Bossam, no need to wait in long lines elsewhere! (🌟 Everything from the Bossam onwards was personally paid for, a truly verified spot!)
So, while their Bossam and Doganitang are delicious, I was eager to try the new Cheese Bbyeojjim as soon as it launched!
If you're visiting with a group, I highly recommend ordering both the Bossam and the Spicy Cheese Bbyeojjim to share. It’s a fantastic way to experience a variety of their best dishes.
Reviewing the New Spicy Cheese Bbyeojjim
Finally, the moment arrived! My Spicy Cheese Bbyeojjim was served, and my immediate reaction was, "Wow, that's a huge portion!" 😆
The large pork bones were loaded with incredibly tender meat, and a generous blanket of melted cheese on top made it visually stunning. It was a winner from the first glance!
Stretching that luscious cheese and eating it with the tender pork added a rich, savory dimension that was absolutely delicious.
The sauce wasn't just overwhelmingly spicy; it had a perfectly balanced kick with a deep umami flavor that kept me wanting more. And the generous amount of bean sprouts in the Bbyeojjim? A fantastic addition!
The meat was cooked to perfection, falling right off the bone with just a gentle nudge of my chopsticks. There was so much meat on each bone that I was thoroughly satisfied throughout the meal.
As someone who loves spicy food, the heat level was just right for me. But if you're not a fan of intense spice, you can definitely ask them to adjust it! This dish would also be an amazing pairing with a bottle of soju after a long day.
**You MUST order the Fried Rice!**
Honestly, the fried rice was the absolute highlight of my meal. 😂 Stir-fried in the leftover spicy sauce, this dish was so good I would have truly regretted not ordering it.
The spicy sauce was perfectly absorbed into every grain of rice, and with the added cheese, it was so addictive I couldn't stop eating.
We ordered two servings of fried rice with extra cheese! It was absolutely mind-blowingly delicious – I'm already craving it again!
Even though I was already incredibly full, I simply couldn't put my spoon down. If you visit Seokgeori Bossam & Doganitang, adding the fried rice is an absolute must-do!
If you're looking for a truly satisfying and generous meal in Jangandong, I cannot recommend Seokgeori Bossam & Doganitang's new Spicy Cheese Bbyeojjim enough!
The portion size exceeded my expectations, and the combination of the spicy sauce with melted cheese was absolutely divine. Plus, the meat was incredibly tender and plentiful – a real treat!
Next time I'm here with family or a larger group for a work dinner, I'm definitely planning to order their classic Bossam or Doganitang alongside the Cheese Bbyeojjim. If you're pondering dinner options in Jangandong, make sure to give this place a visit. It's truly excellent! 😊
