Sutori Jamsilsaenae Izakaya Review 2026: Yakitori & Ice Cold Beer
Discover Sutori Jamsilsaenae, a local izakaya gem in Seoul for authentic yakitori and ice-cold draft beer. Read our 5th visit review from 09/16/2026.
After watching a captivating show, I felt like summoning lightning, much like Zeus. So, I rallied my friends for an impromptu get-together!
This particular gathering was a bit special, though. I decided to introduce two of my friends, S and J, who knew each other through me but had never met in person. It was time for their historic first encounter! 🤍
Sutori Jamsilsaenae Branch is a spot I’ve visited about five times now. I’ve brought S here, and I’ve come with J separately, so you know it’s a favorite.
Their yakitori is consistently delicious, and best of all, an ice-cold draft beer (12 fl oz) is only ~$3, making it the perfect place for a relaxed drink. This review details our visit on a weekday evening around 7:00 PM on September 16, 2026!

⌛ Waiting / Reservations
Walk-in visit on a weekday evening, September 16, 2026, at 7:00 PM. We snagged one of the last 4-person tables. Naver reservations are available, so if you’re a larger group or visiting on a weekend, reservations are recommended!

Location and helpful tips

Sutori is a short walk down an alley from Jamsilsaenae Station. Its bright yellow sign makes it easy to spot once you're in the vicinity!
The weather was lovely, so they had their almost outdoor patio seating open. Surprisingly, it was bug-free and very pleasant. Perhaps the heat was so intense it dried up all the mosquito eggs?
Waiting & Entry
On-site waiting availability
We walked in without a reservation, and the turnover seemed pretty quick.
However, since there were three of us, we took a 4-person table, and after we sat down, most of the other 4-person tables were taken. If you’re with a larger group, it’s probably best to make a Naver reservation. I’ve never bothered with reservations when it’s just two of us, though!
Visit Time
Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 7:00 PM
Wait Time
None (but we got the last available table!)
Reservation Method
Reservations available for 1-4 people. For groups of 3 or more, I recommend booking in advance via Naver.
Menu & Prices
My recommendations…
Menu Images
Orders are placed via a tablet, so I’ve included images of the full menu. Everything I’ve tried here has been good, but the absolute must-try is, of course, the chicken skewers (yakitori)!
My personal recommendation order is: Yakitori > Udon Dishes > Simple Appetizers. I’ve only had the spicy fish cake udon, but it’s perfectly seasoned to enjoy with drinks!

The receipt review event offers a choice of:
Soft drink / Soft serve ice cream / Mango yogurt sherbet
I was too lazy to participate, but it's a nice perk. It’s a shame they changed it, as they used to give out a free highball!
Menu Review
Yes, I ate it again!

We started with the Signature Bonjiri S Set (~$15).
This set includes: 3 bonjiri skewers (2 classic tare, 1 spicy tare), 5 kushikatsu (lotus root, quail egg, cheese, etc.), and two ice-cold draft beers!
As we ate, we added more skewers: Negima (chicken and scallion), Pork Neck, Dango (chicken meatball), Scallion, Garlic, Tomato Bacon, King Oyster Mushroom, Bonjiri... and other assorted skewers.
Like the bear in the Korean myth, I diligently ate my scallions and garlic 🐻✨️, hoping to become more 'human.' Still no visible effects, though!
Despite ordering so much for three people, our total bill was ~$63. For Jamsilsaenae, it’s a pretty good price to enjoy a variety of dishes and beers without breaking the bank.

They diligently grill the skewers, and the complimentary cabbage salad and shrimp chips are also delicious!
Atmosphere & Service
Please fix the restroom!
Oh, I almost forgot – the restroom was under renovation during our visit. We had to use an external restroom (located on the first floor of the building). The password was posted on the door, and you'll need to grab tissue from inside. This information is specific to our visit and will likely change once repairs are complete!
Aside from that, the food and beer arrived relatively quickly, and despite a steady stream of customers, the turnover was efficient. With the outdoor seating area open, the restaurant felt less cramped, and on a nice day, sitting outside would be absolutely perfect for enjoying drinks.
Overall Review
How much do I recommend it?
Having visited about five times already, I’m definitely planning to revisit, haha!
👍 What I Loved
• Ice-cold draft beer for ~$3
• Wide variety of consistently good yakitori
• Food and beer served relatively quickly
• Naver reservations available
• Great for groups to try a variety of dishes
• Currently running a baseball viewing event! (Get a free highball if you verify watching a baseball game – check Naver reservation page for details)
🤔 What Could Be Better
• Restroom was under renovation, requiring use of an external facility.
• Bonjiri (chicken tail) was a bit too fatty for my preference as a lean meat lover – though my friend absolutely loves it!
Well, I’m off to eat more scallions and garlic. Perhaps by my next visit, I’ll finally transform into a human 🐻.
Someday, I’ll also introduce my absolute favorite chicken skewer spot in Songpa… but for now, I’ll keep that gem a secret. It’s a true local favorite, the kind of place I’d cycle to even with terrible public transport access! 🫶
