Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Review 2026: Jamsil's Luxury Escape

I recently enjoyed a fantastic hotel staycation at Sofitel Jamsil (잠실 소피텔), all thanks to a friend's treat!

I'd been really curious about it for a while, and seeing the cherry blossoms reminds me of it!

Haha!

I'll definitely keep this place in mind for next year's cherry blossom season!

No luggage. No worries about heading home.

Stepping out from the hotel, light and carefree as if just going for a stroll,

I really want to experience the joy of seeing Seokchon Lake (석촌호수)!

Prices do tend to get a bit steep around this time of year.

But for weekend prices, it's really not bad,

and given the current climate, there are still rooms available.

It looks like the cherry blossoms will stay vibrant until early next week or so.

Sofitel Ambassador Jamsil (소피텔 엠베서더 잠실) is located on the Dongho (동호) (East Lake) side,

where you can see the vibrant pink cherry blossoms often featured on Instagram.

Seoho (서호) (West Lake) offers a stunning Lotte World Adventure (롯데월드 어드벤처) view,

featuring beautiful white cherry blossoms... both sides have their own unique charm!

The lights are on from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM,

and they turn off promptly at 10:00 PM!

The location is right in the heart of Jamsil,

right next to Lotte World Mall (롯데월드몰), making it an optimal spot.

Even if it's not cherry blossom season, it's super convenient to get to Lotte World.

1. Rooms & Amenities

Important notes for Sofitel Jamsil rooms!!

No delivery food allowed, lol!

Previous posts mentioned an extra charge for outside food,

but perhaps since 2026, it's been officially updated to 'outside food restriction,'

making it even stricter.

Only baby food is allowed,

and in the nursing room next to the Japanese restaurant Mio (미오) on the 3rd floor,

they say there's a microwave available for warming things up.

I'll talk about room service versus breakfast in the next post,

but room service here is truly delicious, and the menu seems excellent.

Since I went with the kids, I couldn't get a picture of the room perfectly set up,

so here's a room with some signs of use, haha!

It featured one bed and a rather spacious living room.

That distinct fluffiness and plushness of a hotel bed!

And the bedding, of course, was superb.

If you request a bed guard for children, they provide it~

What's famously provided here are the Diptyque (딥디크) amenities!!

Spacious rooms and amazing amenities? Game over, right? Haha!

With both a bathtub and a shower stall,

it's perfect for bathing the little ones.

Overall, it really exudes a luxurious vibe.

The view from our room was just of apartments, though...;

I wonder if they'd offer a better view if you have a higher tier membership or visit on a weekday...

Just a thought!

Still, you can see the Seokchon Lake (석촌호수) view from the lounge, pool, and other areas,

so it's quite nice.

There's a capsule coffee machine and a coffee table in the room.

The complimentary tea set was also quite nice.

There's also a mini-bar, though I'm not sure when I'll ever get around to touching it!

2. Pool & Fitness

Sofitel is also famous for its green-lit 'Galaxy Pool.' It's great during the day, but it's even prettier at night.

The pool has a view of Seokchon Lake, making it perfect for enjoying the night scenery.

The depth of the water gets shallower towards the window,

so it's also great for enjoying with kids.

Weekday operating hours are 06:00~22:00.

On weekends, it operates by reservation.

Hours can always change, so please check at check-in.

Life vests and kickboards are available for free rental.

We recommend changing and showering in your room.

Swim caps are mandatory! They are sold for ₩10,000 (~$8).

Fitness wear is available for rental,

but you must bring your own athletic shoes!

It's beautiful everywhere you look, perfect for taking incredible life shots.

If you get cold while swimming,

there's also a hot bath to warm you up.

Looking outside, there's also a whirlpool,

so don't miss it!

If you follow the pool corridor all the way,

you'll find the fitness center.

All the equipment is Technogym... seriously!

Since it's equipped with such premium gear,

it seems like it's definitely worth checking out at least once!

Workout clothes are provided for rent, but you'll need to bring your own athletic shoes.

Luxurious rooms and a variety of fantastic facilities!

I usually stick to Marriott, so I haven't explored many other hotels,

but I was so grateful to experience something different this time~

While prices do jump during cherry blossom season,

it was definitely worth it.
