Since 2023, Lotte Gallery has been running its 'Artist Collaboration Wine Project', and Shim Moon-seup's solo exhibition marks its fourth installment. This unique collaboration features works inspired by the Freemark Abbey (프리마크 아비) winery in Napa Valley (나파 밸리), USA.

The exhibition is titled 'To The Island', and its central themes revolve around the 'sea' and 'waves'.
Waves surge and recede,
reborn anew, then fade away.
Through endless repetition,
they forge an infinite order.

Interestingly, all the artworks share the same title: 'The Presentation'.

What truly amazed me about the pieces was their incredible three-dimensional quality. How could paintings achieve such sculptural depth?
The delicate layers of brushstrokes, built up one upon another, created an overwhelming sense of space that was truly captivating.

There were also smaller-sized paintings, many of which emphasized a more dynamic and energetic feel.

The exhibition layout was also quite striking. While the sea and wave-themed artworks adorned the walls, a stone bench placed in the center of the gallery felt like an integral part of the art itself.

The spatial quality created by the gradients of **blue, white, and gray** was simply wonderful. It evoked a feeling of calm waves, yet brimming with a concentrated, vibrant energy.

The circulation of water becomes
a motif that sustains the flow of life.
Symbolizing an eternal system without beginning or end,
it speaks once more of the principles of life.

There were also pieces showcasing slightly different styles.

And you could also admire **photographs of the sea** taken by artist Shim Moon-seup himself, serving as an endless source of his inspiration.

Shim Moon-seup Collaboration Wine

After exploring the exhibition, I admired the **wine collection** featuring labels that beautifully capture the lingering essence of the artworks.
The packaging was so exquisite that I'd definitely consider buying them as gifts!

These collaboration wines are available for purchase at the **wine gallery** next to the exhibition hall and at the **wine section on the first basement floor of the main building**.

Another delightful aspect was the **stamp experience event**, designed to help visitors cherish the exhibition's impression for longer.

Stamps replicating Shim Moon-seup's distinctive brushstrokes are available in various sizes and colors, allowing you to freely create **your own unique postcard** :)

Plus, there's an additional event! During the ongoing Lotte Art Week, you can receive a **special merchandise gift** just by **following Lotte Gallery's Instagram**.

This gift set includes postcards and sticker merchandise not only by **Shim Moon-seup (심문섭)** but also by artists **Kim Sang-yeol (김상열), Kwon Oh-sang (권오상), and Kim Woo-jin (김우진)**!
It was a truly delightful afternoon, enjoying a superb exhibition and receiving such wonderful merchandise. If you find yourself with some extra time while visiting Jamsil Lotte Department Store, I highly recommend a visit to the Lotte Art Hall on Avenuel's 6th floor!
