1. Sx Seoul
📍 SX Seoul
3F, 208 Itaewon-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul
Sx Seoul

✔️ Address: 736-11 Hannam-dong
✔️ English Address:
736-11, Hannam-dong, Seoul, Korea
✔️ Operating Days & Hours:
Thursday: 21:00-2:00
Friday, Saturday: 21:00-3:00
✔️ Music: House + Techno
✔️ Tickets: ~$10 - ~$24
✔️ Two separate spaces,
A place with a distinctive vibe just from its design
✔️
From Hangangjin Station to Itaewon Station,
the entrance is located on a staircase you'll see while walking,
making it super cool and hidden.
The entrance feels a bit hidden, but once you go in, it's dark and
has a mysterious aura with its red lighting.
There's a coat check area, which costs around ~$3.
When you first enter, there's a bar-focused space, and if you exit from there,
and follow a cave-like corridor, you'll find another spacious area. This one is primarily for raving.
It used to stay open until morning,
but I don't know why it suddenly changed to a 3 AM closing time!!
I used to go often when it operated until morning,
but I haven't been able to visit since it started closing at 3 AM.
Back then, there were lots of people and some good-looking guys too.
I also loved how the morning sunlight streamed through the windows,
and it was fun to take a break and sit on the stairs outside after dancing.

📍 Beton Brut

Thursday, Sunday, Monday: 23:00 - check required
Tuesday, Wednesday: Closed
✔️ Music: Techno House - Techno
✔️ Tickets: ~$10 - ~$24

This is a techno-house club in Itaewon where you can go even after other techno-house clubs close on weekends,
It's a techno-house club that stays open quite late.
They say it's open until 6-7 AM...
Personally, before they moved,
I miss the old Beton Brut that had a sun-drenched first-floor courtyard.
But even the new Beton Brut, which has moved completely underground,
has a great vibe, overflowing with Berlin aesthetics.
There's a bar zone where you can sit and have drinks,
and a separate dance-only zone to the left.
It's very, very dark, so you can dance like you're drunk even if you're not.
While the music tends to be a bit harder,
it's not full-on hard techno, so anyone...
even beginners can enjoy it.
It's perfect to grab a pizza from the pizza place out front, then come in and party.

3. Paper & Shelter [Itaewon Paper Shelter]
📍 Paper
Rooftop, 37 Itaewon-ro 27ga-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul
✔️ Address: 37 Itaewon-ro 27ga-gil, Yongsan-gu
✔️ English Address: 37, Itaewon-ro, 27ga-Gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Korea
✔️ Operating Days & Hours:
Friday, Saturday, Sunday
23:00 ~ 4-6:00
✔️ Music:
4F Shelter: Techno
5F Paper: House
✔️ Tickets: ~$10 - ~$24 (If you buy a ticket on the 4th floor, you can access both the 4th and 5th floors)
Techno and House music are separated by floor in Shelter and Paper clubs respectively,
allowing you to move between the upper and lower floors to enjoy both.
Sometimes, the ceiling of Paper club is opened, transforming it into a rooftop club.
Even if the ceiling isn't open, the view from the 5th floor through the side windows is fantastic.
The atmosphere is wonderful, the music is consistently great without much variation, and it's always quite crowded.
However, between 2 and 4 AM, Paper can get extremely crowded, and it might feel a bit overwhelming.
It's an Itaewon club where you can even bring friends who are new to techno and find it too hard,
and they can enjoy it with a light heart.
There are many foreigners here, I wonder how they all found out about it!
You'll also occasionally spot some model-esque guys, and there's definitely more "hunting" (flirting/picking up) here compared to other techno clubs.
But since it's a techno-house club, it's generally quite gentle, so if you're not interested, a simple 'no, thank you' will suffice.
Located on Itaewon's main street, it's quite accessible,
and their summer parties are great too.
On Sundays, it sometimes doesn't open, so it's a good idea to check their schedule on Instagram before you go.

4. Ring

165 Itaewon-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul

2F, 165-6 , Itaewon- ro, Yongsan-gu , Seoul, Korea
✔️ Operating Days & Hours: Friday, Saturday 11 PM -
✔️ Music: Techno
✔️ Tickets: ~$10 - ~$24
This place is also located right off Itaewon's main street, making it easily accessible.
Highly recommended if you want to enjoy some truly hard techno
When you first enter, you'll find a chill bar-like space,
but go a bit further inside, and you'll be hit with pure hard techno.
It's awesome!

5. Hertz Sound [Itaewon Hertz ]
📍 Hertz
21 Usadan-ro 14-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul

✔️ English Address: 1F, 126-1, Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Korea
✔️ Operating Days & Hours: Fri, Sat 12 AM - (approx. 5-6 AM)
✔️ Music: Techno House, Melodic House
✔️ Tickets: ~$10-~$24
Newly opened this year,
Itaewon Hertz is one of my absolute favorite clubs.
Because in the morning, the way the light streams through the ceiling is just so ethereal.
That ceiling sometimes opens up too! Even at night, with the lights installed above,
it's dark, but the feeling of light pouring in is just fantastic.
The music is always great,
and it's usually quite lively with people.
After 4 AM, the crowd sometimes thins out quickly, only to fill up again.
You can stand all around the DJ booth,
and there are various spaces to dance, including the central area and an elevated section to the side.
((It's located behind the Sx stairs.))
It's also a great spot to bring foreign friends.
It never feels too cramped, there's always a good crowd, the music is excellent, and the overall vibe of the space is just wonderful,
Highly recommend!

6. Nyapi [Itaewon Nyapi]

📍 Nyapi
3F, 187 Itaewon-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul

✔️ English Address: Korea, Seoul, yongsan-gu, Itaewon-ro 187, 3F
✔️ Operating Days & Hours:
✔️ Music: House + Tech House
✔️ Tickets: ~$10-~$24
This is another one of my absolute favorite techno house clubs in Itaewon
Because it has a rooftop!
It's located right in the middle of Itaewon's gay street.
The basement of the same building is some kind of hip-hop club.
While hip-hop clubs usually have free entry,
don't let that sway you!
Head into Nyapi, and paradise awaits you...
If you get tired from dancing, you can sit and rest.
There are chairs and sofas available too.
Itaewon Nyapi also has a great spatial layout.
When you enter, you'll immediately see the bar, followed by a long space along the bar, and a cozy corner sofa on the left where you can relax.
Continue straight, and you'll find the DJ booth and the main stage.
Dancing and having fun on the stage
feels perfectly natural with its comfortable flow and spatial arrangement.
And while I'm not sure if the rooftop is open every day,
the rooftop is absolutely fantastic!
Just so you know, I'm obsessed with rooftop clubs!
I'm a total sun-lover.

An old and famous underground club in Itaewon!
But I haven't been there myself yet, so I can't really describe it.
The fact that it's survived for so long must mean it's a lot of fun,
right?
There are always a lot of foreigners and a crowd out front.

This place is genuinely a bit shocking,
but it's an absolutely fantastic spot!
It's less of a club
and closer to a bar + ++++
Do you get a hint from the name?
E le phant Bar
If you go, the sign even features a truly cheeky elephant's trunk
drawn on it.
Yes, this place is said to be... well, let's just say it's not your typical 'wholesome' establishment...
What does that mean? You can understand it as a gay club (?) base, but also a beautiful place that doesn't exclude women.
While it's not an all-female zone,
if two women go,
if you venture here,
you'll truly
feel like you've become invisible.
So mysterious!
It's a place that's a bit low-key, offering a reassuring sense of safety.
That kind of spot.
But then again, the music is fantastic and super hip!
I was able to shed the prejudice that gay clubs only have singalongs to idol songs.
The terrace is also amazing.
Definitely check it out when it's open!
It's fine to go early too.

10. Bolero [Itaewon Bolero]
📍 Bolero
B1, 220 Itaewon-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul

✔️ Operating Days & Hours:
Thurs, Fri, Sat 10 PM - 4~6 AM
✔️ Music:
Hip-hop + Techno
✔️ Ticket: ~$10-~$24
Itaewon Bolero!
This is the most popular and crowded
among Itaewon's underground clubs.
It's hip-hop based,
but it's not the obvious, super boring kind of hip-hop; they genuinely do it well.
However, I find it a bit dull when the hip-hop comes on,
but I get so excited when techno mixes in and plays!
Despite that, I've been there quite a lot.
They maintain a good balance between tables and the stage.
Personally, Itaewon Bolero is
more fun when I go to a friend's table
than just entering on my own.
Oh, and they absolutely NEVER check Instagram DMs here.
ㅠㅠ
If you lose your phone, don't DM them;
just go there quickly and check in person.
But it's always, always packed with people.
If you like hip-hop, you definitely have to check it out.
There are still quite a lot of people until closing time at 6 AM.
Sometimes, when a famous person comes to play music,
the line is 50,000 meters long!
And after the renovation,
it feels like... a super hip Korean-American club in the US.
it has that vibe.
