Highly Recommended: Hongcheon Hutopia Glamping – My Honest, Self-Funded Review of a Couple's Getaway Near Seoul
Written & Photographed by ©️ Yunne
Hello everyone! 🩷
I'm Yunne, your go-to travel blogger!
While trying to figure out where to go for our upcoming anniversary,
I spent hours searching for the best glamping spots near Seoul.

Since my boyfriend and I were planning a trip to Hongcheon
to celebrate our 300th day anniversary,
I really wanted to soak in that cozy, outdoorsy glamping vibe—
but honestly, I absolutely dread using shared public bathrooms,
and I'm definitely not a fan of swarms of bugs.

After endlessly scouting popular glamping hubs like Gapyeong, Hongcheon, and Pocheon,
I finally stumbled upon the perfect compromise:
Hongcheon Hutopia Glamping.
Today, I’m putting together a quick guide on the pricing and room types
to help you plan before you book.
If you want the TL;DR version:
I highly recommend Hongcheon Hutopia Glamping!
Why This Couple's Glamping Spot in Hongcheon Felt Like a Cozy Private Pension (And Why It Was Amazing)

I’m the kind of traveler who loves the romantic aesthetic of camping,
but absolutely dislikes the actual work involved
(setting up tents, dealing with bugs, hauling heavy gear, you name it!).

But Hutopia was a total game-changer.
Each unit comes with its own private bathroom and shower inside!
So while it looks like a chic glamping tent on the outside,
it has all the comforts and structure of a fully-equipped pension.

Plus, there’s a private terrace where we could
sip coffee and listen to music during the day...
...and enjoy a cozy BBQ in the evening.
The moment the bugs started showing up,
we just slipped right back inside to relax in comfort!

Traditional Camping vs. Hongcheon Hutopia: What's the Difference?

At traditional campgrounds, you usually have to share
restrooms and showers with everyone else,
and you're completely at the mercy of the weather.

But Hutopia offers a variety of accommodations tailored to your style,
including Glamping, Duplex, Private,
Riverside, and Space Cabin units.
The Space Cabin even comes with its own private pool!

The property sits right next to a gorgeous mountain stream, offering stunning views,
and they also open up a large communal pool for free during the summer season.
It's not only perfect for couples like us looking for a quiet, romantic escape,
but it's also a fantastic getaway spot for families with kids.

Hongcheon Hutopia Rates: Breakdown by Room Type

I compared the room types
based on the same date.

The Glamping rooms are ~$76 per night
(Check-in 4:00 PM · Check-out 1:00 PM),
and the Duplex, Private, and Riverside rooms
are ~$95 per night (Check-in 4:00 PM · Check-out 11:00 AM).
But wait!
I applied a Yeogi Eottae coupon
and got it for way cheaper!!

It's located in Seo-myeon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do,
and the accessibility is great—just a 4-minute drive to Palbongsan Mountain, 13 minutes to Hongcheon River,
and 14 minutes to Vivaldi Park.

An Honest Review of Hongcheon Hutopia Glamping: Our 300th Anniversary Getaway

We pre-shopped at E-Mart for meat, mushrooms,
pineapple, and even soju and tonic water
before heading over.

Sitting on the terrace, gazing at the valley stream
while enjoying our BBQ...

As darkness fell, we enjoyed a campfire session,
and it was pure, unadulterated healing.

We brought our anniversary cake and second-round drinks indoors
to escape the bugs,
and whipped up some delicious Chapagetti to round off the night.

One quick note: the room we stayed in
was a Couple Room, which felt a tiny bit cramped.
If you're traveling with family, I highly recommend booking
a more spacious option like the Duplex or Riverside.

We loved it enough to definitely want to visit again—
the overall satisfaction was that high!

It's the perfect glamping site where you can get that cozy camping vibe
all year round,
no matter the season!
