Hotel Nanta Jeju Review 2026: Best Hallasan Hike Stay
Get ready to conquer Hallasan! Discover why Hotel Nanta Jeju is the best budget-friendly basecamp for hikers tackling Seongpanak and Gwaneumsa trails.
When planning my hike up Hallasan Mountain, the absolute most important decision was choosing
the perfect place to stay.
📌 Easy early-morning access to Seongpanak and Gwaneumsa trails
📌 Clean, comfortable rooms that won't break the bank
📌 An on-site convenience store with a microwave to prep hiking snacks
(and warm up quick meals)
I searched high and low for hotels near Hallasan with these exact criteria.
In the end, I found a spot that completely nailed both location and value:
Hotel Nanta Jeju!
Here is my honest review of our stay!

Hotel Nanta Jeju Location
Since hiking Hallasan usually requires a very early morning start,
location is absolutely everything.
Hotel Nanta Jeju is nestled halfway up the mountain slope,
making it a legendary basecamp among hikers.
Here are 4 major location perks that made our hiking trip incredibly smooth:

📍 Just a 20-minute drive from Jeju International Airport
Its proximity to the airport means you can check in and rest up immediately after landing,
saving all your energy for the big hike the next day.
⛰️ Incredible proximity to Seongpanak and Gwaneumsa trails
You can reach Gwaneumsa trail in just 5–10 minutes by car,
and Seongpanak trail is only 15–20 minutes away!
This saves you precious sleep time on the morning of your hike,
allowing you to catch every minute of extra rest.
🚕 Avoid the nightmare of Hallasan trailhead parking
While we used a rental car,
if you want to avoid the stress of early-morning parking wars,
this hotel is close enough that a taxi ride is incredibly cheap and convenient.
🚌 Bus routes for solo and car-free hikers
There are several local bus routes that stop right in front of the hotel,
making it highly accessible even if you are traveling without a car.
Hotel Nanta Jeju: A Budget-Friendly 4-Star Stay
Honestly, the price was what sealed the deal for me.
No matter how great the location is, you don't want to overspend.
Despite being a certified 4-star hotel,
you can book a room here for around ~$45 to ~$64 per night on weekdays.

Since I was traveling with my mom, I was extra picky about the facilities,
and we were both thoroughly impressed during our 3-day stay.
On top of the prime location, the amenities—including breakfast, a fitness center, and an on-site convenience store—
make it an unbeatable value.

Hotel Nanta Jeju Room Review
Check-in: 3:00 PM
Check-out: 11:00 AM

I booked a twin room, and it was spacious
with crisp, clean bedding—perfect for relaxing
both before and after our grueling hike.

My favorite feature was the peaceful forest view!
The natural light made it a great spot for photos.

The bathroom was spotless and completely odor-free!

To save our energy the night before the hike,
we decided to order food delivery.
There were plenty of local options that delivered straight to the hotel,
including a hearty Korean soup.
We enjoyed dinner at the room's table
while watching TV.

The next morning, we woke up at 5:00 AM and hit the road by 5:30 AM.
We took a quick mirror selfie in the bathroom to pump ourselves up
for a successful hike!
There is a convenience store on the 1st floor of the hotel with microwaves available.
We heated up some instant rice and made quick rice balls to eat in the car.

We hiked the Seongpanak round-trip trail,
which took only 15–20 minutes to reach from the hotel.
Thanks to this, we easily secured a parking spot
at the notorious Seongpanak lot and successfully completed our hike.
After experiencing Hallasan firsthand,
I realized just how critical it is to stay near
the Seongpanak or Gwaneumsa trailheads.
Getting an extra hour of sleep in the morning
makes an unbelievable difference in your physical condition on the trail!
With its perfect location, clean rooms, and convenient on-site store,
Hotel Nanta Jeju
is highly recommended for anyone climbing Hallasan!
