Looking for an affordable and convenient place to stay near Hallasan's Seongpanak Trail? Hotel Nanta Jeju offers great value, family-friendly amenities, and a unique cultural experience.
When I was looking for accommodation in Jeju, inspired by the popular Korean hiking show, 'Why Are You Even Hiking?' (대등왜), I remembered Hotel Nanta. It's a fantastic value hotel conveniently located near the Seongpanak Trail, a route famously tackled by celebrities like Carder Garden and Lee Chae-min on the show.

On 'Why Are You Even Hiking?', the participants tackled Mount Hallasan via both the Gwaneumsa and Seongpanak trails. While the show likely used a larger resort for filming, the Hotel Nanta, where we stayed, is actually closer to the Seongpanak entrance – just a 15-minute drive. That's even more convenient than the Okra Resort featured on TV!
This prime location means the hotel can get quite busy with hikers, especially in the spring and fall. Be aware that early mornings might be a bit lively as groups head out for their ascent. But if conquering Hallasan is your main goal, the convenience simply can't be beaten!
Beyond hikers, Hotel Nanta is also a fantastic choice for any traveler seeking affordable accommodation in Jeju. When our child was younger, we especially appreciated that they provided bed guards, making our stay much more comfortable.
What makes Hotel Nanta truly unique is that it houses a Nanta performance theater, a popular non-verbal percussion show that originated in the 90s. As of August 2026, they are still running 1-2 shows daily until the end of the month, offering a fantastic cultural experience right on-site!
Ticket prices for the Nanta show are typically ~$48 for VIP seats, ~$41 for S seats, and ~$35 for A seats. However, you can often find tickets with a 35% discount if you book through the official Nanta website or other ticketing platforms.
If you're traveling with a group of four or more, check the official website for special 4-person and 5-person packages – they often offer the best value!
Overall, Hotel Nanta Jeju offers a budget-friendly, comfortable, and convenient stay. If you're looking for an affordable hotel in Jeju, especially one close to Mount Hallasan, this is definitely one to consider!
Plus, the Starlight Nuri Park is located right across the street, making it a wonderful spot for families with kids!
