I'm writing this review because...
The sushi here is truly unique with tails as long as my face (well, almost!), and the taste was absolutely satisfying!
The location is also fantastic, just a 5-10 minute walk from Hongdae Station Exit 9, a popular meeting spot. It's perfect for a sushi lunch or dinner when you're meeting friends in Hongdae.
The interior of Yooiksang Sushi, a true Hongdae hotspot, is decorated with a Japanese vibe, featuring popular anime like Slam Dunk and One Piece. They offer both counter seating and traditional tables.
Ordering was convenient via tablet. We chose the Couple A Plus Set, which included salmon, flounder, tuna, beef, tamago aburi (egg), garlic shrimp aburi, and mekajiki aburi (swordfish). We also ordered a Coke and a bottle of Cheongha (a Korean rice wine)!
After placing our order, the table was swiftly set up, as you can see in the picture, in anticipation of our sushi feast.
Before the sushi arrived, we enjoyed crispy shrimp tempura, a refreshing cold soba (which was a lifesaver on such a hot day!), and a fresh salad. The shrimp tempura was delicious and crunchy, but the soba truly stole the show, even winning over my dad's discerning palate!

After a short wait, the star of the show arrived: the Couple A Plus sushi set!

It's absolutely dazzling—!!
And did you notice the plate? It's served on a beautiful fan-shaped dish, making the already stunning sushi even more elegant!
Each piece of sushi was simply radiant, wasn't it? The taste alone is reason enough to visit, but honestly, if it were just ordinary sushi, I might have hesitated to travel all the way to Hongdae for a date with my dad.

The star attraction: the long-tailed sushi!
To give you an idea of just how long the tails are, I compared one to a cola can. See? The sushi tail is as long as an entire soda can!
It's absolutely worth making the trip to Hongdae to experience sushi with such incredibly long tails, don't you think?
And for all you salmon lovers out there, gather 'round! It would be a shame if only the flounder sushi had long tails, but guess what? The salmon also boasts those impressive long tails—!!!!! As a salmon enthusiast myself, I was in pure bliss! ❤️
With such long tails, you might wonder how to dip them in soy sauce, right?
That's why they provide a special brush just for applying soy sauce! ❤️
You can use this brush to apply as much or as little soy sauce as you like directly onto your sushi.
Another fantastic feature of Yooiksang Sushi, the Hongdae sushi hotspot!
There's no wasabi already on the sushi—!!
This means you can add as much wasabi as you want
and adjust the amount to your preference—!
If you're not a fan of wasabi, you can enjoy it plain, and if you love a kick, you can pile it on!
They also had sushi topped with fried crumbles (?), and I don't think I've seen a place that sprinkles them on so generously elsewhere.

All in all, the sushi here is beautifully presented and tastes fantastic, making it a place where the cola and drinks just flow easily. ❤️

It's close to Hongdae Station but slightly off the main street, so I wondered if it would be popular. However, it's so famous for its long-tailed sushi that there was actually a waiting line!
Seeing even international visitors flocking here confirmed that this is a truly authentic Hongdae hotspot.
Therefore, if you're craving sushi in Hongdae, I highly recommend visiting Yooiksang Sushi!
