Honest Sushi Jeju Review: Best Budget-Friendly Sushi

If you're looking for a spot near the Jeju Dream Tower

that is consistently loved by both locals and travelers alike,

a true local gem in Nohyeong, Jeju,

you really can't go wrong with sushi.

Among the many options, Jeongjikhan Sushi (Nohyeong Branch)

is the perfect place to grab your very first meal right after landing at Jeju Airport,

or to enjoy your final bite

before returning your rental car.

All the different times I ordered from Jeongjikhan Sushi!

Back when I lived in Jeju,

I visited this restaurant all the time,

and I was such a regular that I lost count of how many times I ordered delivery to my house!

Before moving to Sejong City in mid-June,

I wanted to make one last delicious memory in Jeju,

so I paid another visit to my trusty favorite, Jeongjikhan Sushi.

Jeongjikhan Sushi Nohyeong Branch

is a fantastic sushi spot in Nohyeong-dong

that is incredibly easy to get to.

It's just a quick

3-minute walk from the Jeju Dream Tower,

and only about a 15-minute drive from Jeju Airport,

making it the perfect stop for either your first or last day on the island.

Right in front of the restaurant,

there's dedicated parking for about four cars.

However, because Nohyeong-dong's backstreets can get pretty busy,

parking spaces might be hard to find during peak hours.

If you're staying at the Dream Tower,

walking over is definitely your best and easiest bet.

Or, if you'd rather relax in your hotel room,

ordering takeout or delivery is another great option!

This place isn't just for tourists;

it's a beloved local hotspot in Nohyeong-dong,

so it's bustling even on weekdays.

When I visited recently on a weekday evening,

I had to wait about 15 minutes before getting a table.

Luckily, there were only two of us, so we got seated fairly quickly,

but if you're coming with family or a larger group,

you might have to wait a bit longer.

Since wait times can get longer during weekends or dinner rushes,

it's always a good idea

once you have your plans set.

The absolute best part about Jeongjikhan Sushi

is the generously thick, fresh cuts of fish and the amazing value for money.

Even though it had been a while since my last visit,

nothing had really changed,

and it was just as satisfying as ever.

If I had to pick one thing that changed, maybe the plate designs? haha.

On this particular day, we had actually already finished our first dinner at Solji Restaurant in Nohyeong-dong,

so we decided to drop by here

for a light second round with a refreshing glass of beer.

Jeongjikhan Sushi: ~$13

Futomaki: ~$6

Terra Draft Beer: ~$2 per glass

Tip: If you're already full, opt for half the rice!

One of the things I loved most

about my recent visit

was the option to customize the amount of rice.

(This option didn't exist before!)

If you've already had a meal like us,

or if you're just looking for the perfect beer pairing,

you can request to have your sushi made with half the usual amount of rice.

So, I decided to go light on the rice that day...

It was incredibly easy to enjoy,

and pairing it with the warm udon that comes with the sushi set

made it the absolute perfect combination.

Everything is delicious, but the shrimp sushi is the ultimate winner

The absolute highlight of the sushi set

had to be the shrimp sushi.

Raw, soy-marinated, or cooked—they were all incredibly tasty.

The shrimp sushi at Jeongjikhan Sushi

features large, plump shrimp resting on top of the rice,

giving you a wonderfully satisfying, mouth-filling texture with every bite.

It’s a piece I always look forward to and thoroughly enjoy!

The eggplant sushi and futomaki (giant sushi roll)

are also standout favorites here.

But having just one piece of futomaki left us wanting more,

so we ended up ordering a whole extra roll à la carte!

Highly recommend ordering an extra futomaki!

While there is one piece of futomaki included in the sushi set,

if you don't want to fight with your partner over it (haha),

you definitely need to order an extra portion!

At around ~$6, the price is super reasonable,

making it the perfect side dish to add to your table.

The futomaki at Jeongjikhan Sushi

is tightly packed with salmon, fried shrimp,

sweet egg omelet, and seasoned tofu skin.

Just taking a single bite

fills your mouth completely, and it is absolutely delicious!

Other great options include the beef tartare (yukhoe) + salmon set, flatfish with monkfish liver (ankimo),

and their spicy karai jjamppong noodle soup.

Writing this is making me crave Jeongjikhan Sushi so much again... ㅠㅠ

Now it's a place I have to catch a flight to visit!

I've been a regular here since they first opened,

and seeing how my wonderful memories of this place remain unchanged

even after all this time

makes it clear why it has stayed a beloved local favorite for so long.

it was still just as amazing as I remembered.
