Nahonsha Hapjeong Review 2026: Solo Shabu-Shabu Dining in Seoul
Looking for a perfect solo dining spot in Seoul? Nahonsha near Hapjeong Station offers a clean, cozy ambiance and delicious shabu-shabu. Ideal for an authentic and satisfying meal!

Strolling near Hapjeong Station around 7 PM, I was on the hunt for a quick and satisfying solo dinner before a workshop. That's when I stumbled upon Nahonsha!
With its inviting exterior and perfect setup for single diners, Nahonsha quickly became my go-to spot for a delicious shabu-shabu experience in Hapjeong. Here's my review!

You'll find Nahonsha conveniently located right on the main street, perfectly situated between Hapjeong Station and Sangsu Station. It's super easy to spot!
I walked from Hapjeong Station, and it took me about 0.25 miles, roughly a 5-minute stroll.
📍 Nahonsha
1st Floor, 42 Dokmak-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea
They offer a fantastic selection of shabu-shabu and sukiyaki with various broth options to choose from.

Nahonsha is open from 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM, though on Saturdays, they open a bit later at 12:00 PM.
They have a break time from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Don't plan your visit for a Sunday, as they're closed for their regular day off.

I arrived a little after 6:00 PM, accidentally making it for their 'opening rush,' which meant I got to enjoy my solo dinner in a wonderfully spacious and tranquil atmosphere!

The interior of the restaurant is remarkably clean and inviting. Just inside the entrance, you'll find the restroom key, and I was pleased to see that the facilities were well-maintained and separated for men and women.

What really caught my eye were the single dining seats by the window, offering a lovely view of the lush greenery outside. The ambiance was absolutely perfect!

A thoughtful touch I appreciated was the phone holder at each window seat. It allowed me to enjoy the outdoor view while also catching up on some videos or shows. This kind of solo-dining specialized setup was truly a first for me!

They also have an online review event! If you post a photo review, you can get a free serving of glass noodles (Bungmooja) or a beverage.
Ordering is super simple right from your table. Just pick your shabu-shabu broth, then add any extra toppings or sides you desire – that's it!
For their shabu-shabu, Nahonsha uses high-quality chilled Australian beef chuck roll. I opted for a clean broth for my meal, and here's what I ordered!

Another nice touch was that the water served was barley tea, which is always a refreshing choice.
You'll receive two standard sauces: a creamy peanut sauce and a zesty sweet chili sauce.

For a side dish, they uniquely serve jalapeños! The combination of shabu-shabu and jalapeños felt a bit unusual at first, but it was surprisingly delicious – I even asked for a refill, it was that good!

After placing my order, the shabu-shabu broth was brought out first. The induction cooktop has settings from 1 to 5, and I recommend starting it at 5 to get the broth boiling quickly!

Soon after, a generous portion of beef and a colorful array of vegetables arrived! Honestly, even with just the basic set, I felt it was a perfectly ample amount for a solo diner.

The chilled Australian beef looked incredibly fresh, which was a huge plus. Alongside the beef, you get a diverse selection of nine toppings: bok choy, napa cabbage, enoki mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, bean sprouts, fried tofu, fish cakes, carrots, and pumpkin.

Knife-cut noodles (kalguksu) are also included in the basic set. I love fish cakes, so I ordered an extra serving, which came with three pieces.

A moment later, the broth started bubbling! I added the vegetables first, then the beef. Since it's chilled beef, it cooks incredibly fast – unlike frozen meat! I highly recommend dipping it in and pulling it out almost immediately to enjoy its tender texture.

I dipped my shabu-shabu in the peanut sauce, and the combination of shabu-shabu, peanut sauce, and jalapeños was absolutely fantastic. The rich flavors of the beef and vegetables were beautifully complemented by the creamy peanut sauce, with the jalapeños adding a clean, refreshing finish! If you prefer a bit of a kick, the sweet chili sauce would be a great choice.

Once the broth starts boiling, add your toppings and then reduce the heat to a low setting, around 2-3, to maintain a gentle simmer.

After enjoying all the beef and vegetables, I finished off my meal with the fried tofu, fish cakes, and kalguksu noodles. While it's traditional to follow with rice porridge (juk), the generous portion, especially with the extra fish cakes, left me completely satisfied without needing more.

As I was leaving, I noticed they have a fantastic 4+4 reward program! I was so pleased with my meal and the atmosphere that I grabbed a coupon for future visits.
On your 4th visit, you can get an extra 1.4 ounces of beef or a popular topping for free. And on your 8th visit, you'll receive a complimentary 1-person shabu-shabu meal!
If you're looking for a clean, delicious, and solo-friendly dining experience near Hapjeong Station, Nahonsha comes with my highest recommendation!
