Hanjeongseon Chapssaltteok

Hello, I'm Tak Sajang, your travel blogger :)
There's a super-sized glutinous rice cake that's all the rage these days, isn't there?
That's right, it's Hanjeongseon Chapssaltteok!
I also recently visited Lotte World Mall in Jamsil and was surprised by the long waiting line,
which led me to discover and try Hanjeongseon Chapssaltteok!!
I visited around 5:30 PM on a weekday.
I'll share what menu items were still available,
what the prices were like, and most importantly, how the taste was,
in an honest review where I paid for everything myself.
At the end, I'll also list some important precautions you should definitely check,
so please stick with me until the very end.

🚨 Today's Food Adventure Log
This is an honest review, paid for entirely by me. (As of August 2026)
⭐️ Today's Eatery Rating (out of 3 points) ★★☆
The waiting line can be long, but it moves quickly,
so there's no pressure in waiting.
However, the price is a bit of a burden.

1. Hanjeongseon Chapssaltteok Jamsil Weekday Waiting

Hanjeongseon Chapssaltteok, the one everyone's been buying lately!
I also visited the Jamsil Lotte World Mall branch this time.
📍 Lotte World Mall Jamsil, B1F

⏰Business Hours 10:30 AM - 10:00 PM
(Closes when sold out)
☑️Holidays Open Year-Round
✔️ Take-out specialized store
✔️ Remote waiting not available

I visited around 5:30 PM on a weekday.
This is what the line looked like at that time.
This alley gets incredibly crowded because of Hanjeongseon.
For your reference, the waiting line for Hanjeongseon
is divided into a line for payment and a line for receiving the chapssaltteok,
so make sure you stand in the correct one.

About 30-40 people were waiting in line.
The waiting time was around 15 minutes?
With about three staff members handling payments,
the line moves pretty fast, so there's absolutely no pressure to wait.
However, there's one thing that *is* a bit of a burden.
What is it? The price, of course.
I'll explain it below :)
2. Hanjeongseon Chapssaltteok Menu & Prices

Hanjeongseon's menu is largely divided into two categories:
Red Bean Chapssaltteok and Yogurt Chapssaltteok.
Under Classic Red Bean Chapssaltteok, you'll find:
Dubai, Fresh Strawberry, Mugwort Fresh Strawberry, Gold Kiwi, Whole Tangerine, An-butter, Dried Persimmon, and Pineapple.
And for the popular Yogurt Chapssaltteok that many people are enjoying these days, there are four types available:
Fresh Strawberry Yogurt, Mango Yogurt, Peach Yogurt, and Blueberry Yogurt.
<📌 Hanjeongseon Chapssaltteok Menu Recommendations>
Menu | Price (USD) |

Fresh Strawberry Dubai | ~$5 |
Choco Strawberry | ~$4 |
Fresh Strawberry, Dried Persimmon | ~$3 |
Gold Kiwi, Mugwort Fresh Strawberry | ~$3 |

✅ Menu items can sell out early

For prices, the red bean paste butter mochi (An-butter) without extra toppings is ~$2,
and other items start from a minimum of ~$3.
If you add Dubai Kadaif, prices go up to the ~$4 to ~$5 range.
All the trendy yogurt menu items are a flat price of ~$4.

For your information, the gift sets are incredibly well-presented,
so they would be perfect for purchasing as gifts.
Available in sets of 9, 6, 1, and more.
3. My Personal Review of Hanjeongseon Chapsalttteok in Jamsil (Bought with My Own Money)
After about a 15-minute wait, I was finally able to order at Hanjeongseon.
Even though it was a weekday, perhaps because it was late afternoon,
many menu items were already sold out.

I really wanted to try the Blueberry Yogurt and Mango Yogurt,
as well as the Peach Yogurt,
but all three were sold out,
and all yogurt menu items except for the Fresh Strawberry were sold out..!

As for the regular red bean chapsalttteok,
the An-butter, Chocolate Strawberry, and Whole Tangerine were also sold out.
So, I ordered the Fresh Strawberry Yogurt and Mugwort Fresh Strawberry.
After paying, if you wait at the pick-up counter next door,
they will hand over your order in about 5 minutes.

Also, they mentioned that it's essential to consume them on the same day.
They said to eat it within 30 minutes of purchase, so
I added an insulated bag.
If you add an insulated bag, refrigeration within 3 hours is essential!

However, I just ate mine the day after purchase.
When I saw influencers eating them, they looked really big,

but perhaps it was just my imagination, they didn't feel overwhelmingly large.
It seems like you can finish one in about three or four bites.

First up, the Fresh Strawberry Yogurt (~$4)!!
It's filled with a huge strawberry and plenty of yogurt cream.
Even though I ate it the next day, the texture was chewy and delicious.

Since strawberries weren't in season, the tartness was more prominent,
but that actually worked out well.
The combination of sweet cream, tart strawberries, and chewy tteok (rice cake)
was quite harmonious.
If I were eating alone, I think I could easily finish up to two.

Next, I tried the Mugwort Fresh Strawberry (~$3)!
Originally, I wanted the chocolate flavor, but it was sold out, so
I opted for the unique mugwort instead.

The mugwort flavor wasn't too strong,
so I think it would appeal to most people.
If there's one thing I found a bit disappointing, it's that there wasn't much red bean paste..!
Do mugwort chapsalttteok usually not have red bean paste..?
I feel like it would have been even more delicious with it, but
aside from that, the aromatic mugwort and
the tangy strawberry created a unique combination that
made me want to keep eating.
If you're not a fan of overly sweet treats, I think you'll also
enjoy the Mugwort Fresh Strawberry flavor.
4. Points to Consider & Precautions
Points to Consider |

The taste was definitely good!
However, there's one slight regret that makes me wonder if I'd buy it again.
And that's the price..!
The price is on the higher side, so even after waiting in that long queue,
it made me hesitate right up until checkout.

So next time, instead of buying it just for myself to eat,
I think I'd get it as a gift.
It's adorable and charming, and it made me wonder if glutinous rice cake could truly be this luxurious.
Important Note |
There are a few things to keep in mind when you're purchasing.
Make sure to double-check that you received the correct items.
Since there are so many customers,
I've seen reviews mentioning that the staff sometimes make mistakes.
Also, some reviews said that even if you added a cooler bag,
they didn't always include a cool pack,
so I highly recommend checking right there on the spot!
