Hanjeongseon (한정선) has been the talk of the town recently, and I finally managed to try their famous chapssaltteok! I joined the waiting list on a weekday morning at 11 AM and successfully made my purchase.
Let's dive right into my review of three types of their delicious yogurt chapssaltteok.
Waiting for Hanjeongseon at Shinsegae Gangnam on a Wednesday at 11 AM

I honestly thought there wouldn't be many people on a weekday. The physical line seemed short, which was a pleasant surprise at first. However, it turns out everyone had already registered their waitlist spot using the Tableing app!

I registered for the waiting list around 11:20 AM. My turn was finally called at 2:42 PM! That's a total wait of about 3 hours and 20 minutes.
Fortunately, there's plenty to do at Shinsegae Gangnam (신세계 강남). I grabbed lunch and even squeezed in some shopping at GOTO MALL (고투몰), so the time flew by quickly!
Even Longer Waits in the Afternoon

While there wasn't a physical line to register for Tableing (테이블링) at 11 AM, by the afternoon when I returned to make my purchase, the line to even register for a spot was incredibly long. If you're serious about snagging some Hanjeongseon chapssaltteok at Shinsegae Gangnam, make sure to head straight to their counter and register for the waiting list as soon as you arrive!
Chapssaltteok Sold Out, Even on a Weekday

Just as I arrived to pick up my order, a staff member announced that the Fig Chapssaltteok (무화과찹쌀떡) had just sold out! This seasonal, limited-edition flavor is clearly the most popular. Given that the store is located within the bustling Express Bus Terminal (고속터미널), even on a weekday, the gift sets were completely sold out by 3 PM!

Luckily, all four varieties of the yogurt chapssaltteok (요거트찹쌀떡) were still available. However, I wasn't sure how long they'd last into the evening, especially since the Blueberry Yogurt Chapssaltteok (블루베리요거트찹쌀떡) and Fresh Strawberry Yogurt Chapssaltteok (생딸기요거트찹쌀떡) are labeled as limited stock!

The Fresh Strawberry Yogurt Chapssaltteok, being the newest flavor, seemed particularly prone to selling out quickly.
Overall Review and Tips

Hanjeongseon was definitely the busiest spot in Shinsegae Gangnam's basement Sweet Park (스위트파크) food hall, which speaks volumes about its current popularity. I AM DONUT (아이엠도넛) was a close second!
Even on a weekday, I waited about 3 hours. If you're planning a weekend visit, I highly recommend doing an "open run" – arriving right when the store opens – to avoid even longer queues!
